Chapter 3520: Impersonator?
The Super-Long distance Teleport Formation was located just on the north side of the city, quite separated from the crowded parts. Not that the formation masters who made it didn’t want to make it in the center, but that it would be bothersome. Such teleport formations needed gigantic areas, and using the center of the city for it would pretty much make the entire city center be occupied by the formation alone.
Yes, one could use another formation to manipulate space and create a big enough room that didn’t occupy space outside. But that would be an even worse idea. The Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation alone would disrupt space to such an extent that chances were the space manipulation formation would collapse when the teleport activated.
Even if it didn’t, the price to keep that space running, considering that the Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation extremely rarely be used, simply wasn’t worth it. Thus, building it away from the city center, in this case in the north, was the best choice.
Rean and Roan sat by the window of a tall building, looking at the teleport formation building in the distance. Rifindio was correct when he said the place was tightly protected, and Rean’s Divine Sense Bending Skill could even detect several Space-Time Realm experts around. There was even one at the Divinity Realm Initial Stage, so any idea to sneak inside had been completely given up at that point.
"There he goes," Kentucky commented, watching Rifindio flying to the building. The city had a flight restriction, and only a few had the right to break that rule.
"Halt!" The guards at the building immediately noticed that, and a bunch of experts, several with cultivation higher than Rifindio, came out to block his path. Not only them, but various experts came from the city and helped surrounding Rifindio too. After all, no one was supposed to be flying there.
Yet, Rifindio snorted. "Hmph!" His form changed, and he returned to his Camazotz Bat shape. "Who dares stop me?"
"Ah!" The guards were taken aback. Truth be told, none of them had seen a real Camazotz Bat before, but they obviously knew what they looked like. There were even recordings of their auras in the databases so they wouldn’t get mistaken. Rifindio’s aura had indeed changed because of Kentucky, but not to the point that these guys would be able to feel the difference.
*Zush!*
Immediately, another expert rushed out of the Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation, quickly brushing aside all the guards. "Open the way, open the way!"
His name was Koclavan, and he was one of the few people on this continent who had really seen Camazotz Bats before. Seeing Rifindio, he definitely had no doubt he was the real deal... although he felt a very slight difference in the aura. The difference was actually much bigger, but Rifindio worked hard to manipulate his bloodline at that moment, so he would only let the aura of his Camazotz Bat Bloodline come out without its mutations.
That said, the slight difference in aura wasn’t enough for the guy to doubt Rifindio. "All of you, go back to your posts! Anyone who offends this friend here will be executed! Hmph! To think you would try to block a member of the Camazotz Bat Race!"
All the experts felt their hearts coming out of their mouths, and they all apologized at the same time. "Sorry, sir. We are taking our leave!"
The commotion died as fast as it started, and not a single shadow dared to complain about the fact that Rifindio was still flying in there. "That’s more like it," Rifindio nodded in approval, although he still seemed slightly angry. "You should have received the report I was coming, and yet, there was no one here to receive me. I was even surrounded like I was some kind of criminal. What’s the meaning of this?"
"This..." Koclavan couldn’t help but cold sweat. "Sir, sorry for our lack of knowledge. I’m Koclavan, the vice supervisor of the teleport building. I can assure you that we haven’t received any information about your arrival. However, I will immediately start an investigation into this issue to see why we haven’t received the report."
Rifindio’s expression relaxed a little. "Forget it. That’s a waste of time. Activate the Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation. I’m going back to the Supreme Palace. How long will it take?"
Koclavan swiftly nodded. "Yes, yes, yes. The process shouldn’t take more than two hours. Please, come inside. We will prepare a resting place for sir."
"No need," Rifindio turned around, preparing to leave. "I’ll be back in two hours then. I will take this chance to gather a few things while I’m still down here in the Divine Realm." Without giving Koclavan any time to speak, Rifindio flew back to the city. No one dared to follow or check on him, afraid of receiving retaliation from the Supreme Palace.
Koclavan bitterly smiled. He also needed Rifindio’s Camazotz Bat’s ID, but he just didn’t have the courage to ask for it after Rifindio left so fast. Rifindio was obviously very arrogant, but he knew that already. All Camazotz Bats always acted arrogantly, that was normal as the top race of the Universe. "Sigh... I guess I can only contact the Supreme Palace and ask for his ID from them instead. Since we were supposed to have received him, they should know who he is."
Rifindio returned to his humanoid form, and after confirming no one was following or watching him with Divine Sense, he disappeared in the midst of the crowd. Sometime later, he arrived at an inconspicuous alley where Rean, Roan, and Kentucky were already waiting for him.
"Hahaha!" Rean patted Rifindio on the back, impressed by his performance. "I have to say, how about changing your career? You would do great as an actor, you know? The Werdlem Empire’s System is full of that kind of entertainment."
Rifindio felt all the tension in his body disappear. "Your ass! Fuck, there was even a Divinity Realm expert there. What if he had come after me?"
"That’s why I was with you," Celis suddenly commented, arriving at the same alley. He had stayed close to Rifindio, and he could pull Rifindio into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm at any time. After that, Celis simply had to exit the Dimensional Realm by the twins’ or Kentucky’s side, and his Dimensional Realm Entrance would disappear. They were ready for everything.
"Sigh... that’s good, that’s good..." Rifindio nodded. "So, what now?"
Roan spoke the obvious. "Now we wait."
Meanwhile, in the Supreme Palace, a message was received from the Calamigas Continent Super Long-Distance Teleport Formation, requesting the ID of the Camazotz Bat they were supposed to send to them.
"Hum?" A cultivator in the communications center saw that and narrowed his eyes. "Calamigas Continent?"
He quickly went through the information of the hundreds of thousands of Camazotz Bats who were out of the palace, but there was no information regarding any Camazotz Bats near that area. "That doesn’t make any sense. No Camazotz Bat should be there right now."
He pondered about this issue. "Could something have happened that forced one of them to go there? No, that doesn’t make any sense either. He could have acquired a VS Device anywhere in the Divine Realm and contacted us to explain the situation. Yet, this guy didn’t do so. He simply appeared at the Teleport Formation and asked for it to be activated... Which means... an impersonator? Who would dare to impersonate a Camazotz Bat?"
In the end, he only worked in communications, so he shook his head and passed the issue to his superiors. They were the ones who would decide what to do with that information.
