Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4068: Following His Footsteps

*Rumble!~*

Illumina didn't look at Myria, who was behind but could hear the devastating thunderclap that struck Myria in the ninth second. The intensity greatly shook her heart, causing her to glance back and check if Myria was okay.

However, what she saw was a fairy dancing, controlling the black-red lightning with the grasp of her hands as she treated it like it was a flower. Her movement was graceful, elegant yet commanding, each step of her footwork seemingly decreasing the momentum and removing the violent energy of annihilation.

The black-red lightning ferociously crackled, appearing unwilling to be subdued. However, Myria's calm expression and precise movements bent it to her Will. At the same time, she was refining it using life energy, causing hundreds of thunders to echo across Illumina's mind.

Lereza was also stunned. This was different from Davis's forceful refinement.

Her breath was stuck in her throat to witness the surreal sight of Myria convincing and taming it into silence with her life energy.

She knew Davis did indeed teach her how to refine these things, but to think she used another method entirely.

With a flick of her wrist, Myria spun and gathered the black-red lightning into an orb between her palms. It didn't seem to take the form of a wisp but an orb as she compressed it further, her gaze sharp and unwavering.

However, time was up as three seconds passed after the first strike.

The dark crimson tribulation clouds rumbled and sent forth the second strike. It didn't appear to be a single strike but split into many.

Myria's eyes narrowed as she murmured, "It's practically the same as his…"

Having read about many tribulations, Myria could tell each lightning strike would be different for others, some forming dragons, some forming swords or spears, and all types of energy depending on their nemesis or difficulty.

Dragons were seen as one of the most difficult Wills to encounter. It made sense that dragons descended on Anarchic Divergents.

However, the way it strikes was also different for cultivators.

This second strike of hers split into sixteen, similar to what happened to Davis. She was sure that her anarchic factor in the eyes of the heavens reached his level, making her heave a heavy sigh.

The sixteen strikes all tried to deal damage to her from different directions. However, it was just like before. The space she controlled extended, and instead of managing to hit her, those sixteen strikes all danced together with her as though she was controlling it in the palm of her hands.

Vereina couldn't be bothered about defending since she was weaker, so she kept a firm look at the tribulation. She looked entranced as she stared at Myria. Her demeanor was unfazed, her poise akin to that of a goddess of life commanding and quelling the storm that tried to take her life.

Her lips quivered to see her treating this unbelievably strong tribulation as child's play.

*Rumble!~*

The skies darkened further, and the final lightning strike began to gather. The black-red tendrils of lightning coiled like serpents, merging into a colossal vortex that pulsed with an ominous rhythm. It grew into a full-fledged dragon that was three kilometers long.

The oppressive undulations it radiated like the king of the world cowed Vereina. She felt limp as she almost lost her footing even while standing.

On the other hand, Lereza and Illumina also seemed wobbly.

They were not Divergents who had experienced this kind of tribulation. Normal people wouldn't even be able to maintain consciousness directly below this pressure. Even Vereina, a Divergent, was barely able to stand straight within this giant vortex of annihilative and authoritative aura.

Yet, Myria's bearing was completely free of any tremble. She didn't seem solemn, looking almost indifferent.

*Booom!~*

The third and final annihilative heavenly lightning strike fell. A pillar of black-red lightning fell, its pure aura of annihilation directed at Myria as it struck her.

Myria didn't retreat. She leaped above, her figure streaking into the tall pillar of lightning without hesitation.

For a moment, everyone's heart skipped a beat as they perceived that this black-red dragon's lightning strike was over ten levels higher. It was one level above the previous strikes, which were plenty scary.

If it wasn't an Immortal Emperor Tribulation but an Empyrean Tribulation, they would've been scared out of their wits.

But before they could see what happened, their clash produced a blinding light, and even sounds were consumed by the roar of the energy, deafening their senses.

It took a few seconds before the light faded, and vision returned to their eyes.

They saw Myria standing amidst the sea of crackling black-red lightning. It seemed to have shattered and scattered, but she kept waving her hands, collecting them and compressing them into a set of many orbs.

She completed refining them in eight seconds and threw them into her life ring as she did to the previous set of orbs.

Myria exhaled.

The dark crimson clouds were already changing colors to icy purple above her. She knew the Annihilative Heavenly Yin Tribulation was a second away from attacking her.

Closing her eyes, she appeared in her soul sea.

This soul space was made up of black-white space, life, and death intermixing everywhere around her soul essence. She didn't need to wait.

As she appeared, she could see many silhouettes appearing before her.

Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts appeared— the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Serpent, Kirin, Turtle, Hydra, Phoenix, Wolf, and Fox.

However, in front of them manifested a supreme human.

"Well, well, if it isn't a fine lady."

A gentle yet proactive voice echoed in the soul sea, "I must say that I am ashamed for intruding upon a woman's soul sea. However, I would like to state my innocence that this isn't my-"

His voice suddenly disappeared as the supreme human stared at Myria, appearing to have been dumbstruck before his expression fell.

"It can't be…" His voice was full of disbelief, "Little Myria…?"

Myria's gaze also flickered with numerous emotions. However, she controlled them and moved her cherry lips.

"That's right. It is indeed your friend's daughter, Myria. How have you been, Celestial Transcendent, or should I say, Uncle Supreme?"

"…"

The Celestial Transcendent shuddered. His expression twisted and churned with numerous emotions. Myria's silhouette disappeared in his eyes, replaced with that cute lass who called him endearingly whenever he was around, and he picked her up to show her the wonders of the world nearby without having to worry about her life.

Now, he saw her having fully grown into an exquisite beauty who would make countless jaws drop. Anyone who was related to her would be proud. He should be no different.

However, he was here… to kill an Anarchic Divergent.

He was here to end… Little Myria.

It drained all the strength from him in an instant. He never expected to face her, considering he had heard that she had only summoned six Paragon Magical Beasts in her Immortal Emperor Tribulation in the past.

But now, not only had she summoned all twelve, but she was also dangerous enough to summon him, the Celestial Transcendent, the strongest Heaven's Warrior of the human race!
