"Of course, I retained the ability to use my previous race's species techniques as well, so I can still make magical beasts King-Tier and Emperor-Tier."
Everlight continued to reassure them, "Moreover, my life energy has become denser and more encompassing, so I don't need to sacrifice my tails when creating a King-Tier. As for creating an Emperor-Tier, one tail is enough~"
"…"
Myria and the other's heart shook.
With a species evolution, also came the ability to use previous techniques way more easily. The runes Everlight possessed were not simply one of an innate Elysian Jadesoul Fox but an evolved Elysian Jadesoul Fox. There would be differences between the two.
Davis could tell.
Everlight's difference was great, considering she evolved all the way from being a Light Sky Wolf, a totally different species. The combination could be deadly. She could be broken for all Davis knew.
"As for evolving, I seemed to require one orb per lifeform for magical beasts, three orbs per lifeform to get them from Saint Magical Beast Rank to Grand Saint Magical Beast Rank. It changes depending on the stage they are in too. The earlier, the better. However, if they are King-Tier or Emperor-Tier, it makes evolution easier."
"That makes sense." Myria nodded, "The higher their cultivation base, the more difficult it is to change their cores. The more potential their bloodline purity holds, the easier it is to evolve them."
"What about the third species technique?" She asked with more curiosity."That… I'm not so sure. It seems I may have to enter the Empyrean Beast Stage in order to unlock the inherited memories behind it."
Everlight's expression wilted.
"I see. I guess it's your own bloodline blocking it from letting you know. It's most probably a sacrificial technique or a technique that's too powerful to handle for your current cultivation."
"Ohh~"
Everlight sounded as though she understood, but the disappointment in her voice couldn't be hidden.
Davis smiled. It seemed like she really wanted to impress everyone.
Myria, on the other hand, was thoroughly fascinated.
"While I had Everlight all to myself, I studied the runes on her tails and found out that there is a minor semblance to the Evolution Laws I know. However, it doesn't seem to be a fusion of Karmic Laws and Life Laws. Instead, it seems to stimulate regression like her first species technique does. It is probably a combination of Life Laws, Karma Laws, and Time Laws."
Myria's brows raised.
She instantly went to check Everlight's tails and studied the runes over her fur. The three strange azure orbs inside the tail shone with a silver radiance. They couldn't be any more mysterious, considering they were no longer azure.
Myria slowly used her senses to try to comprehend the runes and the orbs.
The life energy brimming from it was tremendous, misleading her, but the more she focused, the clearer her senses turned, and eventually, she chanced upon a minor amount of karmic energy and time energy. ṙαɴο฿Ɛs̩
She could instantly tell that these two powers were what allowed her to evolve beings and bring their bloodline to their ancestral level.
It made her sigh with astonishment.
"No wonder… no wonder the Elysian Jadesoul Fox Race has long gone extinct that their names all disappeared from many records… they were too overpowered with their life energy and didn't fit with the current standards of the Heavenly Laws… the fact that they can allow others to evolve or regress means that they are also capable of using Karma Laws and Time Laws as long as they make the effort to learn it… this is most likely the source of their karmic burden which caused their names to disappear… or they were so old and ancient race that they weren't even recorded in the first place… After all, they might've long gone extinct before the human race even entered the age of cultivation…"
Myria sighed gently after she uttered her thoughts on Everlight's ridiculous capabilities,
"That would make the Nine Lives Gracious Fox the last bastion of life-attributed fox race," Davis said.
"Indeed." Myria agreed with Davis, "Even if higher-ranked life-attributed fox existed, it would be no more than a few individuals and not a race. For example, the Celestial Transcendent's wife managed to undergo two evolutions, so she must have become an Elysian Jadesoul Fox and went further one step ahead to become an even more powerful life-attributed fox. She is only a single soul, and even if she gave birth, giving birth to a same-race magical beast would be extremely hard since she married the Celestial Transcendent. She could most likely give birth to feys. Hence, her race wouldn't have propagated."
"Yeah, but..."
Davis sucked in a cold breath, "With a wife like that, the Celestial Transcendent won't die easily."
"That's for sure." Myria giggled ever so lightly, "Killing him would be no less difficult than us finally managing to get rid of our anarchic status and living free and carefree lives."
Davis raised his brows, "Are you sure you want to see your favorite uncle die?"
"…" Myria narrowed her brows, "If he comes in between our happiness, we're left with no choice."
"Right." Davis nodded, "However, I sense something in him. For some random brat, he has shown much restraint. Perhaps leaving me alive while tying my hands is nothing but an act of rebellion or something done to take care of another calamity."
"You're overthinking it." Myria flicked her sleeve lightly, "His Divergent kill count has probably reached a hundred thousand in the span of tens of billions of years. There's no reason for him to hold back over one arrogant junior and a spoiled lass."
"There are so many Divergents?" Davis looked taken aback, "Even with the billions of years casually inserted, isn't the number too high? How can there be so many Divergents?"
"Not every Divergent is going to be strong. Some are weak beyond compare that they could be hunted by some elder in a minor power or a genius from a major power. You remember the Thundering Serenity Upper Realm, right?"
"Of course." Davis's brows furrowed with hostility, "You said that their Patriarch at that time tried to hunt you down fiercely. It's the Stormsong Family, isn't it?"
