“Sure.” Li Qiye smiled and sat down next to them, enjoying the sun.

The juniors became supporters and prepared everything for the desolate god and emperor.

“Ancestor, our phoenix plant sprouted just in time to have some tea leaves for you.” Alch-deer presented a cup of tea.

The juniors didn’t dare to say anything since the leaves belonged to Solar Monarch. He stole them when the monarch was absent.

Li Qiye took a sip and nodded approvingly: “Volcanic type, reborn in a solar flame. Must have required some techniques on your part.”

“You’re too kind, Ancestor.” Alch-deer smiled.

“Your primary affinity is alchemy and harmony, where did the solar flame come from?” Li Qiye asked.

“Hahaha, I borrowed some.” Alch-deer laughed: “These leaves in Solar Monarch’s place were going to expire so I did him a favor of collecting them for him. The timing was perfect, he always bragged about how good they are so I boiled some for you, Ancestor, to test them out.”

He didn’t turn red at all, turning “stealing” into “borrowing”. Moreover, he justified it by preparing them for the ancestor, not himself.

“That’s fine.” Li Qiye chuckled.

“Ancestor, shall we start a pot?” Huntblade brought over a big pot made from luminous draco-metal.

“Pill Ancestor’s pot…” Mu Hu was surprised to see it.

This pot was used by Dragon-pill to stir certain alchemy ingredients. The emperor might go crazy to see if being used as a cooking pot.

“Perfect, I have this lamb to sweeten the pot.” Alch-deer laughed and tossed in a recently hunted lamb.

The juniors became frozen again. This so-called lamb was a black-cloud rider lamb, a treasure of Tortoise Emperor.

“We gathered some nice hot peppers too.” Huntblade took out a bunch with a golden fiery glow.

“Solar Fruits?” Orchidcore and the juniors gasped at how wasteful it was.

“Solar Monarch’s things again.” Senior Brother Gong whispered.

“Still not enough, we have to add some red dates too.” Alch-deer added more to the pot.

“Those are earth-dragon pills…” Mu Hu said with uncertainty because these expensive pills belonged to Dragon-pill Emperor. Ordinary disciples never had the chance to see them.

“Some fresh seafood too.” The two of them took out more plates of prepared dishes for the pot - river draconic loach, firestarter shrimp, inter-soul clam…

These were delicacies only available to emperors and desolate gods, causing the juniors to salivate.

“I’m sure only a few of these belong to you two.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Everyone contributes a little bit.” Alch-deer said: “Since the senior brothers and ancestors are so busy, we do what we must.”

Huntblade smiled wryly since he wasn’t as shameless as the deer demon.

“Come.” Li Qiye sat down and picked up a pair of chopsticks.

The two immediately moved the boiled meat to his plate. He focused on eating, not minding the two servants.

“Ancestor, try these firestarter shrimp, this is the right season for them, so soft but not mushy.” Alch-deer knew the right timing.

“Not bad.” Li Qiye nodded approvingly.

Meanwhile, Huntblade scooped the best part of the broth for Li Qiye who drank it in one gulp.

The aromas of the broth and meat filled the courtyard during Li Qiye’s grand feast. Unfortunately, the juniors weren’t invited.

After having his fill, Li Qiye lay back down and yawned before speaking: “You two have been diligent.”

“As we should, Ancestor.” Alch-deer said: “Not to mention other matters, you fixed my dao bone so you are another parent to me. My cultivation path will be far smoother because from my calculation, I wouldn’t have been able to fix it until I have an anima tree. That would be ten thousand years of meditation, all shortened because of you.” RÂ𐌽Ó฿Ëș

“We should properly welcome you back to the sect, Ancestor. To do otherwise is unfilial and shameful, we won’t be able to meet the progenitor with our head held high then.” Huntblade added.

“Well said.” Li Qiye smiled: “There is hope for Desolate Frontier because, at the very least, you two are humble enough to know the imperial path is nothing.”

“We have let down the progenitor so we can’t afford to be prideful.” Alch-deer said.

“Take your time and it will come.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Thank you for your guidance, Ancestor.” Alch-deer bowed.

Li Qiye chuckled before glancing at the horizon.

“Rumble!” A fiery trail shot across the sky.

“This is…” The emperor and desolate god looked up.

“Who is it?” Huntblade focused his vision but didn’t see the figure clearly.

“It’s in Star Ocean. Maybe Solar Monarch?” Alch-deer guessed.

“No one else is there right now, so it has to be Solar Monarch.” Huntblade said.

“The mythical prison, right?” Orchidcore asked Mu Hu.

“Yes.” Mu Hu nodded: “Ordinary people can’t come, the prerequisite is having anima due to the ferocious beasts there.”

“Raa!” A roar echoed across Desolate Frontier.

Next, a gray miasma erupted from a main mountain in Imperial Domain. It swept through the land and killed all vegetation and trees.

“?!” The youths became afraid.

“Clank!” A gigantic shadow rushed into the air, causing loud clanks due to the chains wrapping around it.
