Chapter 1043: Bloody Laser
Minor Treasure—Weaponised Ruthusk Lantern!
Ruthusk was a compound mineral produced through a mixture of Rutham and tusk bone powder, specifically sourced from tusks of Ruvva’s Empyrean Tusk form. It was the first compound mineral she turned into a Minor Treasure.
The reason was simple: It was the easiest way to gain a Minor Treasure that could serve as an extension of her body.
Mystic Humans could treat their body as a Spirit Weapon. Using the Mystic Human Stamp, Ruvva had the means to refine the tool of Virala’s Mystic Ewworm form into a Minor Treasure.
Originally, she wanted to do it for tusk bone powder, for that would give her tremendous benefits. However, the moment she saw its tool version, she refrained from proceeding ahead with it.
The tool had neither the function of Internal Inertial Gravity nor Storage Lantern. It only appeared in the same state the mineral existed on an Empyrean Tusk—as its tusk. It was a tough substance that couldn’t be destroyed, same as an Empyrean Tusk’s.
That didn’t seem attractive for Ruvva. After all, she could transform into an Empyrean Tusk. Even if the material were to be elevated into a Minor Treasure, the cost to benefit ratio made it unfeasible, at least from her perspective.
For anyone else, the minor treasure would give them unmatched defence.
Hence, Ruvva focused on Ruthusk first. The body of Virala in her stomach was forced to consume Elixirs regularly and then activate Mystic Kinesis Art while refining the Ruthusk. This was done after Virala’s Mystic Ewworm form consumed her Empyrean Tusk body parts.
This was to refine two characteristics in the Ruthusk tool: first was Ruvva’s signature, meant to make the Rutham parts feel like they were a part of her body. And second was to refine in its tusk bone powder the aspects of a Storage Lantern.
Virala was also using Mystic Bone Art in-between intervals of using Mystic Kinesis Art. Mystic Bone Art was based on an Empyrean Tusk’s characteristics. Therefore, using it on the Ruthusk only made the tool more inclined towards Ruvva, as she had an Empyrean Tusk form.
These two characteristics were refined into the Ruthusk tool over time, and influenced it. The Mystic Human Stamp’s refining capabilities quickened the process and eventually produced a perfect tool for Ruvva’s needs.
Typically, a Storage Lantern could only house a cubic metre of space stably within it. This didn’t require any Prana expenditure. A total of ten floors could be created on a Storage Lantern.
When Vhalla obtained the Secondary Nature of Kinesis Lantern Deity, she could create a Storage Lantern with a volume of 8000 cubic metres, basically a cube with a side of 20 metres. It was stable and required no Prana expenditure for upkeep.
She could create ten floors in total, all with the same volume, which required no maintenance. All Storage Lanterns, whether made by Mammoth Clansmen or produced using Kinesis Lantern Deity, had a door to each floor.
The size of the door varied, depending on how it was constructed. It could be pin-sized or as large as the entire side. It was the only means to access the space within the Storage Lantern. Its biggest flaw was that the space within couldn’t be accessed in its compressed state.
Only when the space within was synchronised to the external world could it be accessed. This means, the Storage Lantern would have to be reverted to its original size to be used.
A 10-storey storage lantern spanned a height of 10 metres, which was already the height of six people put together on average. It was pretty visible.
The Storage Lantern made using Kinesis Lantern Deity? It was even more obvious, as even a single-storey Storage Lantern of this kind was twenty metres tall, wide, and reached a height of 20 metres. It required a lot of space to be used.
Ruvva wasn’t looking to solve this issue, not in the slightest. Instead, she intended to capitalise on it, and that resulted in the following.
Minor Treasure—Weaponised Ruthusk Lantern!
It was a Storage Lantern with ten floors in total, with each floor occupying 8000 cubic metres in volume. Its function, as a Minor Treasure, was to be recognised as one of Ruvva’s organs, serving as a reservoir of blood.
The Minor Treasure had the capability to change its internal space without altering its external size. Meaning, it served as a reservoir of blood in its compressed state. When released, the space within synchronised with the external space.
In her body, this organ was the size of a nail, occupying a millilitre in volume. When the space naturalised with the external space, all the stored blood was ejected instantaneously.
A volume of 8000 cubic metres of blood was ejected through a hole the size of a centimetre in an instant. The sheer liquid pressure resulted in a laser capable of cutting through the toughest of objects.
Moreover, this was Ruvva’s blood, so it too could be controlled using psychokinesis, making it even more destructive.
Of course, trying to control it by curving it would weaken its destructive might. So, when she used it, Ruvva used her psychokinesis solely to amplify its destructive might and fired it as a laser.
She had the means to release blood from as many floors as she wanted. To make it the most destructive, releasing all ten floors’ worth was the best.
When not used for destructive means, it served as a reservoir of Prana, allowing her to function for a long while without issues. Ruvva planned to rely on this reserve to function in her Empyrean Tusk form for a longer time.
Weaponised Ruthusk Lantern wasn’t limited to storing her blood alone. It could store any body part of hers. But the easiest to store was blood, as it also carried Prana, making it the most efficient and effective for a variety of situations.
Ruvva stored the Minor Treasure next to her heart, attaching it to an Artery so that when necessary, she could flood her bloodstream with fresh blood.
Of course, as it served as a part of her body, she could control the force of ejection too, using psychokinesis, making the release as weak as possible so that she doesn’t laser out holes in her body.
And now, since the situation was dangerous, she had released all ten floors’ worth in an instant, shooting a bloody laser that cut the palace into pieces.
“Argh!” She roared as from a hole on her chest appeared the bloody laser. She twisted and turned her torso to aim the laser at Brangara, who was actively flickering about at full speed, his figure a mere blur in her sight.
The beam cut through everything in sight as Ruvva could see parts of Brangara’s body getting diced up. However, most of them were from his limbs and non-lethal sections of his torso.
It had all happened in a flash, as all the blood was ejected in an instant. Ruvva wasn’t moving her torso, but rather vibrating it. The slight vibrations were angling the laser in slightly different directions.
And due to the phenomenon of arc length, the farther the laser travelled, the larger the arc of destruction it laid about.
“What…just happened?” Councilman Hyak muttered as all he saw was a streak of crimson, and then there was a design of crimson on the palace walls, akin to scribbles.
His eyes fell upon the figure of Brangara, who was standing on one leg, gasping faintly as deep grooves covered his body, a sign of the laser cutting through. Many of these lines actually made their way to the heart, forming a rough outline of the organ.
However, a mysterious force seemed to have protected it at the last moment to redirect the laser to other parts of the body.
Brangara was pretty messed up from the attack, but was alive, as his heart was perfectly intact.
Boom!
A bloody scent wafted into his nose, followed by a mist of blood as Councilman Hyak stood rooted to the spot, unable to react. His body flinched when he heard a puff sound, turning his head slowly to see Brangara standing a few metres away, holding a Councilman by the neck.
No, it wasn’t Brangara anymore, but Virala, as the appearance suggested. “…Leader?”
“I undid my transformation.” Even though he didn’t have to, Brangara commented as he swallowed the Councilman. Immediately after, he jumped back, watching an Eddy Blade cut at the spot he stood upon moments before.
“Give me a moment.” Virala commented as he evaded Ruvva’s attacks for a few seconds and then transformed into Brangara, “Now, it’s better.”
“I’m more comfortable in using my own body to fight.” He commented and kept evading as half his torso was covered by Tratham now, “Impressive attack, by the way.”
“I almost died to it.” He commented upon seeing the desperate lunge from Ruvva, followed with a relentless array of punches and kicks, “However,”
As Brangara evaded all the attacks and followed up with simple counters, he asked, almost curiously, while with a swipe of his palm, he broke a couple of her fingers and pulled them out, “Why haven’t you used it again?”
“Are you unable to launch it in quick succession?” He asked and threw the two fingers into his mouth, bellowing in relish immediately, “DELICIOUS!”
