Chapter 6292: The Sacred Mansion’s Ancestral Token
Chapter 6292: The Sacred Mansion’s Ancestral Token
Having made up her mind, Long Zhuoyan took Chu Feng and the others onto her cloud and dashed for the sky. Upon reaching the highest point, she thrust her palm forth to smash open the formation.
Beyond the formation was not outer space. Rather, they found themselves in another realm.
This made Chu Feng realize that he had indeed been in a formation realm, and it was located in one of the Seven Realms Galaxy’s Upper Realms.
Chu Feng told Wang Qiang and the others that he was going to confront the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, and they expressed that they wanted to tag along. However, Long Zhuoyan refused to take them along.
This left Wang Qiang and the others with no choice but to return to the Totem Galaxy first.
With a wave of her hand, Long Zhuoyan placed them on a cloud that moved at an astonishing speed upon entering the teleportation formation.
Following that, Long Zhuoyan and Chu Feng got onto a similar cloud and entered the teleportation formation too. While its traveling speed was not on par with the Nine Heavens Secret Domain’s teleportation formation, it was still an incredible feat.
...
Meanwhile, Jie Tianran was traveling through a beautiful hidden realm in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion with a grim expression.
This hidden realm was the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s forbidden land. By right, he should have been the only one with the authority to access it.
Yet, he just received a summon notice from this hidden realm.
Soon, a floating palace appeared on the clouds ahead.
He pushed the doors open and found himself faced with seven familiar silhouettes. Five were the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s Saint-tier elders and one was Ling Sheng’er’s grandfather, the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief.
“Lord Mansion Master.”
The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief and the Saint-tier elders bowed to Jie Tianran, but they looked a little uptight, for there was someone else in this palace aside from them—Jie Shanxian.
Jie Shanxian was from the same era as Jie Tianran’s master, the World Spiritist Immortal King.
“Lord Shanxian? How are you...”
Jie Tianran was taken aback, but it also explained why the other party dared to set foot in this forbidden land. Jie Shanxian was indeed qualified.
“Are you trying to ask why am I still alive?” Jie Shanxian asked.
“That’s not what I mean. Lord Shanxian, you have been away for so long, and we don’t have your life token in our mansion, so we don’t know how you have been faring. I thought you might have entered the Ninth Galaxy like my master. Since you are here, it would mean that you have been in the world of cultivation all along. May I know where you have been all this while?”
Jie Tianran took a humble tone, but his expression spoke otherwise.
“I don’t need to report my whereabouts to you, do I?” Jie Shanxian asked.
Jie Tianran fell silent.
Jie Shanxian’s tone made it clear that she wasn’t here to catch up with him, and the chances were that she had gathered the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s upper echelons here today to question them.
Thus, Jie Tianran smiled. “There’s no need for you to report your whereabouts to me, but I can’t help but notice that I’m not the first to learn about your return despite being the mansion master. May I know if there’s a reason behind your abrupt return?”
“Yes, I do have business here.” Jie Shanxian got straight to the point. “It’s about your daughter, Jie Ranqing.”
“About Ranqing?” Jie Tianran chuckled. He could already fathom a guess as to what was going on, but he asked anyway, “May I know what this is about?”
“I shall get to the point. I have gotten a grasp about the circumstances surrounding your daughter, so I’d like to ask why did you imprison a junior as outstanding as Jie Ranqing and plunder her bloodline? Also, why are you so opposed to Chu Feng? You have to give me a good explanation for these matters,” Jie Shanxian said as she took out a seven-colored token.
The token’s appearance caused the palace to shake and the natural energies outside to swirl, but what was more terrifying than the power it harnessed were the words on it.
Inscribed on the token’s front was ‘Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’ and on its back ‘Ancestor’.
Only two people in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion were known to be in possession of the Sacred Mansion Ancestor Token. One was the World Spiritist Immortal King, and the other was Jie Shanxian.
It symbolized authority superseding the Mansion Master.
“Jie Ranqing is my daughter; this is my family’s internal affair. Lord Shanxian, are you intervening in my family affair too?” Jie Tianran asked.
“Oh? I’m surprised you know she’s your daughter too. Even a vicious tiger doesn’t prey on his cubs. Jie Tianran, how can you do this to your own daughter? Even if she isn’t your daughter, her talent is outstanding enough for the mansion to nurture her.
“Also, why do you have to intervene in her marriage? I have never heard of our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion having a tradition where our bloodline must not be leaked outward. Our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion is made up of world spiritists from all over the world of cultivation. Our foundation is built on our flexibility in taking in talents!
“Other than that, why are you after Chu Feng’s life? There’s no grudge between you two, and he’s your grandson! You should be trying to bring him to our side instead of going after his life! Jie Tianran, you better give me a good reason here today, or else I won’t let things slip!”
Jie Shanxian was practically shouting in the latter half of her statements. That was how infuriated she was.
“I’m doing this for our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s future. Ranqing is indeed talented, but that’s also the result of my meticulous nurturing. She used to be obedient, but that bastard Chu Xuanyuan appeared out of nowhere to ruin her.
“Chu Feng is talented, but if only Ranqing married another formidable world spiritist instead of that Chu Xuanyuan, their offspring would have been far more talented. They are the ones who ruined Ranqing, as well as my unparalleled grandson! Chu Feng’s talent doesn’t belong to him but our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, so I’m going to take his bloodline back,” Jie Tianran spoke with an exceedingly calm voice, not displaying any anger whatsoever.
But his words angered Jie Shanxian. “Are you out of your mind?! Those are not words a human should speak! I can’t understand how someone like you became the Mansion Master!”
“I don’t need your understanding. All that matters is that I know that I’m doing this for the Sacred Mansion,” Jie Tianran said.
“Jie Tianran, I shan’t argue with you. I order you to release Jie Ranqing right now and return her plundered bloodline to her. Otherwise...”
“Otherwise what?” Jie Tianran asked.
“Otherwise I’ll be exercising the Sacred Mansion Ancestor Token’s supervision authority. The ancestors have the right to punish the Mansion Master if he fails to maintain fairness.”
Jie Shanxian raised her Sacred Mansion Ancestor Token. The token swiftly released a seven-colored aura that passed through the palace walls and seeped into the realm. The world shook as if a formidable power was about to break free.
Seconds later, Jie Shanxian’s face darkened.
Her token was still releasing the seven-colored aura, but it was no longer communing with the formidable power that threatened to break free. The palace stopped shaking, and the natural energies outside fell still.
Shocked, she turned to Jie Tianran. The latter’s impassive expression said it all.
“You... You dare to dispel the authority of the Ancestor Token?!”
