Chapter 4690: Learn a Skill
Seeing this, Hao’er hurried into the stone room to check on his younger siblings. As soon as he entered, he saw Muchen and Muyue lying side by side on the cold stone bed. Their clothes were completely soaked with sweat, clinging to their small bodies. It was clear they had endured intense pain. Both of their lower lips showed faint teeth marks, evidence of their silent struggle, and their hair was stuck to their foreheads and necks with perspiration that had yet to fully dry.
Not wanting to disturb them, he didn’t dare to wake them. Instead, he quietly watched over them for a while, his heart aching. He gently took out a clean handkerchief and carefully wiped the clammy sweat from their faces and limbs. Then, silently channeling his spirit energy, he subtly dried their sweat-soaked clothes before settling down to stay by their side, a silent guardian.
They remained asleep until the first light of the next morning began to filter into the room. Muchen was the first to stir, his eyes fluttering open to see his Big Brother sleeping soundly on the very edge of the stone bed, a picture of quiet devotion. He was about to carefully get out of bed when Yue’er woke up beside him, her movements still groggy with sleep.
“Big Brother, why are you sleeping here?” Yue’er mumbled, rubbing her eyes with a small yawn. She had just woken up, and her little face was still clouded with sleepiness, as if the events of the previous day had already faded from her memory.
“Are you awake?” Hao’er also stirred at that moment, his eyes opening to meet theirs. He sat up quickly and asked with genuine concern, “How do you feel? Are you feeling any better now?”
“Qilin,” Muchen suddenly called out, his voice still a little weak. A flash of bright light momentarily filled the room, and the majestic Qilin beast materialized before them, its gentle eyes fixed on its young master.
“Huh? My brother’s Qilin is here! Does that mean I can summon my little spirit fox too?” Yue’er exclaimed happily, her drowsiness instantly forgotten. She eagerly called out, “Little spirit fox, come out quickly!”
As soon as the words left her lips, the magnificent Nine Tails Spirit Fox appeared with a soft whoosh, gracefully landing on the bed. It looked around the room with intelligent eyes, stretched languidly, and then spoke in a melodious voice, “Master, the oppressive blood curse that bound you has finally been broken. That vile thing was suppressing us, preventing us from reaching you.”
“Great! The blood curse is really broken!” Yue’er clapped her small hands together with joy. She hopped out of bed and declared, “Is Master going to take us down the mountain to go shopping today? Let’s go find him!”
“After Master broke the blood curse for you yesterday, I couldn’t help but notice that he looked a little pale. I wonder if he’s feeling any better today,” Hao’er said, his brow furrowed with concern. However, his worry didn’t stop him from following the energetic Yue’er out of the stone room.
Unexpectedly, as soon as they stepped out of the stone chamber, they saw their master sitting calmly at the stone table outside, looking completely refreshed as he leisurely sipped tea and read a book.
“Master!” Yue’er called out brightly, quickly running forward to greet him with unbridled enthusiasm.
“Master,” Hao’er and Muchen said in unison, their demeanor a little more reserved. They bowed respectfully, offered their greetings, and then stood quietly to one side, observing their master.
The Azure Emperor glanced at the ethereal Nine Tails Spirit Fox and the noble Qilin beast, then addressed the two younger children, “Take back your contract beasts. In the future, unless it is absolutely necessary, do not let them appear in front of other people.”
Understanding the importance of his words, the two children quickly willed their beloved contract beasts back into their personal spaces.
“Master, are we going down the mountain now? Can we go and get something to eat?” Yue’er asked with an eager smile.
The Azure Emperor looked at the three of them, a faint smile on his lips. He then waved his hand gently over them. They felt a soft breeze wash over them, and it was as if a subtle weight had been lifted from their bodies. They suddenly felt incredibly refreshed and light.
“Hey? This isn’t the dust-removing technique! Master, what kind of technique is this?” Yue’er asked curiously, her eyes wide with innocent wonder.
“It is similar to the dust-removing technique in its effect, but the key difference lies in its deeper cleansing action. While the dust-removing technique merely removes surface dust and dirt from your clothes, this cleansing technique makes you feel as though you have just taken a thorough bath and changed into fresh garments, saving you the trouble of actually bathing and changing,” the Azure Emperor explained patiently.
“Master, I want to learn this too!” Yue’er exclaimed with an enthusiastic smile, her desire to learn evident.
