MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1517 - 1517: Bountiful RewardsCommon, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Ancient, and Divine.
Thanks to the long passage of time, these eight rarity grades had become long imprinted into the minds of both NPCs and players alike, using it as a rough guide to find out how valuable or how strong something was.
Of course, such grades were not the end-all and be-all of things, with situations where lower-grade items were favored above higher-grade items being quite a common occurrence.
However, to those pursuing the pinnacle of power, it went without saying that having a higher-grade class and subclass was better.
After all, it dictated not only the potential you had on the path, but also the limit you would reach before you stopped growing any stronger.
The reason why Valyr decided to set this as their fourth and final goal pretty much came down to two reasons in his mind.
The first reason had something to do with the story Vaughn shared with him on how the latter eventually discovered and obtained the First Blacksmith class.
Recalling what he remembered about the story, the young man recalled that Vaughn had an encounter with the Apostle of Light class in the past, a class that was renowned not only for its affiliation with the God of Light, but also its rarity as a Divine grade class.
From what the man had told him, the holder of the Apostle of Light was only at the peak of Rank 4 at the same time, yet was able to unleash a level of power that was equivalent to a Rank 7 class holder.
Knowing that Vaughn obtained the First Blacksmith class with the hopes of achieving a Divine-grade class without affiliating with a deity, Valyr already knew that the limits of his main class were pretty much the Divine level.
As for Ataraxia’s class, although it started off at Mythic grade, considering that it had something to do with the concept of the Arcane, the young man was certain that it could reach Divine grade.
Or better yet, the grade that above Divine.
And that’s where the second reason came in.
‘Is there a reason why I haven’t seen anyone below the Myth level go beyond Divine grade?’
As this question came to mind, Valyr thought about the brief encounters he had regarding the topic in his past life.
Although he was already at the Divine level back then when it had, the young man had come across a small group of players below the Myth level that all had Divine grade classes.
Unsurprisingly, just like what Vaughn had told him, all those players showed a level of combat strength that far exceeded what was expected from their current class rank.
Yet, no matter how much he searched for any outlier that went beyond that grade, even going so far as to enlist the help of an intelligence organization because of it, the young man ended up finding no leads whatsoever.
‘I’ll have to find that out for myself sooner or later,’ muttered the young man to himself, ending his train of thought then and there.
‘But hopefully, there exists a way that makes it possible.’
…
“Now that the final battle for the top ranks has concluded, the Algerie Kingdom Myriad Prodigies Tournament has now officially come to a close!”
Although the tournament had taken the better part of a month to reach its end, Schubert still talked about the tournament with the same level of excitement he had from the start.
Because of that, the crowd erupted into cheers and applauses in response to his words, all of them incredibly eager to see the top 128 that would move on to the final tournament.
“I’m sure many of you have already seen the final list of the 128 people that would head to the empire, but for everyone else, let’s have those 128 in question come up to the surface!”
At those words, a large group of people headed up to the amphitheater’s surface, all of them having made a great name for themselves during the tournament.
With that, it went without saying that the crowd cheered the loudest they had during their appearance, though they only got louder once the person at the rearmost portion of group showed themselves to the crowd.
“Ylvar! Look here!”
“It’s the Mythslayer! It’s the actual Mythslayer!”
“Holy shit, it’s Ylvar!”
Walking up to the front center position of the entire group, Valyr briefly gave those he walked across a faint nod before waving his hands towards the crowd with a smile.
Then, feeling like he’d given the crowd enough attention, he took a few steps back, allowing the announcer of the tournament to take center stage once more.
“With the top 128 here behind me, I’m sure all of you already know what’s gonna happen next,” said Schubert, slightly chuckling.
“And if it isn’t already obvious for you… our contenders right here are about to have their efforts greatly rewarded!”
Allowing the crowd to let out yet another round of cheers and applause in response to his words, Schubert eventually gave them a sign to quiet down as he began to spoke with a tone of slight envy.
“Before I begin, let me just inform everyone within the top 128 that all of you shall have the opportunity to enter the Ocean of Crystallized Truths, a location that would give you the opportunity to greatly increase the grade of your comprehended Intents.”
“Of course, the time you spend within this place is dictated by your rank… which is why I shall be going over them right now.”
“For those ranked 65th to 128th, the tournament shall reward each of you with 10 platinum coins, a Viscount-rank title recognized throughout the entire territory of Algerie Kingdom, an opportunity to obtain a single one-star treasure from the Algerie Imperial Treasury, as well as four days’ worth of time within the Ocean.”
“As for those ranked 33rd to 64th, the tournament shall reward each of you with 30 platinum coins, an Earl-rank title recognized by the kingdom, a square kilometer plot of land within the kingdom’s territory, an opportunity to obtain a single two-star treasure from the Algerie Imperial Treasury… and a week’s time within the Ocean.”
Giving both the crowd and the participants a bit of time to digest what he said, the man soon continued.
“To those ranked 17th to 32nd, the tournament shall reward each of you with 90 platinum coins, a Marquis-rank title recognized by the kingdom, a plot of land spanning 10 square kilometers, an opportunity to obtain two two-star treasures from the Algerie Imperial Treasury…”
“As well as two weeks within the Ocean.”
After that, the man went over the rewards those from the 9th to the 16th rank would get, as well as those from the 5th to 8th and the 2nd to 4th rank would receive, their rewards already enough to elicit great envy among the crowd.
However, once they heard what kind of rewards the champion of the tournament would receive, the envious feeling the crowd had towards the rewards was instantly replaced with that of acknowledgment and respect.
Because to them, it was only right for Valyr to be the one receiving it.
