I think what we saw was Ruby’s Heavenly Skills activating and most likely her Aura, a combination of her own Physique and Magic Circle powers unified into a single manifestation of her elemental, magical, and physical powers.

Yeah, you usually unlock Aura at Tier 3, but most of the people at Tier 3 we’ve seen had no Aura at all, it seems that aside from reaching that level, you also require a certain level of comprehension over what your elements are and also your abilities and magic.

It’s… I guess it’s not easy and it’s rather complicated. It also has to do with your mental state, your Will and your Desires, and how you translate your Emotions into your Power and Magic.

Seeing how Physical Energy or as its usually called, Ki, is needed to combine with Mana, it’s not something everyone can easily do…

Ruby however, had a pretty rude awakening. Not only did she manifest her Aura instantly but even her Aura took form, using her Divine Powers contained within her Divine Blessing.

Her Heavenly Skills then activated and summoned that form, a giant made of flames holding upon a huge blazing hammer… I don’t know if that’s her Beast Aura, but maybe.

Beast Auras are the evolution of normal Auras and help someone awaken greater power by channeling an animal or entity within their Aura, so it can unleash special abilities and powers, even elements with much more ease.

Usually you need to go through a ritual and had already absorbed materials connected to this aura you’re trying to build, but at the end, it seems that Ruby was developing her own without the need for that.

POOF!

Once her blazing hammer hit the wolf with all her strength, it exploded into black smoke and dissipated, instantly revealing the tired Ruby in between the smoke.

"Hahh… Hahh… Fuck I’m all wounded, dammit." She cried. "My nails broke?! No way!"

The beautifully painted nails she had ended breaking, which caused her more discomfort and anger than her actual wounds…

"Here, drink from this bottle!"

I gave her the bottle that creates elixirs, and she drank its contents, her wounds weren’t big and were simple enough that they easily healed.

"Phew, that was nice, thanks Sylphy," she sighed in relief.

"Here!" Celica gave her a towel.

As she was cleaning her sweat and finally relieved, August walked towards us carrying something.

"Alright well done! You pass Ruby, here."

Out of nowhere, he gave her something.

"An Adventurer Card?!" Ruby asked. "Wait, isn’t that too fast? How did you even…?"

"I knew from the beginning you would pass so I already told someone to make the card right away," he said. "However because you passed with flying colors, you aren’t F Rank! You’ll start with D Rank benefits!"

"D Rank jump?!" Ruby asked. "But that’s..!"

"It’s the highest rank someone can start with no matter how strong they are, so congrats, hahaha!" August laughed. "With your abilities getting to A Rank is not a dream but a big possibility if you work hard enough. Even perhaps S Rank in the future."

"Insane, well done!" I said. "Now she got D Rank benefits?"

"Yes she does! Lots of discounts," he nodded. "Now, do you want to go check on the requests we got today?"

"Sure!" said Ruby. "But also, what the hell was that monster guild master? It felt too strong for a newbie fight…"

"Hahaha, well, you caught me," he laughed nervously. "I can boost the power of the shadow monsters a bit and adjust it based on the person fighting… I made it as strong as possible for you because I knew you could handle it. Come on, a bit of rough love helped you awaken your Aura, right? So I pretty much helped you, hahaha!"

"Hahah…" Ruby sighed. "I guess so… thanks I suppose."

She was thanking but she looked quite annoyed, nonetheless, he wasn’t wrong. Thanks to this challenge Ruby had to put everything into this battle and successfully awakened her Aura and even learned to use her Skills "instinctively".

"So how was it?" I asked her. "The feeling of having power? Those are the skills you’ve had sealed this entire time… well, that you sealed on your own."

"I don’t know… I guess it feels nice? I like… I liked being strong," she muttered. "Now that I think about it, yeah… Wow, did I do that?"

I guess she was still processing it and was on a state of shock maybe.

"Yes you did! Still processing it?" I asked. "Okay, it’ll be alright. Let’s go to some small dungeon so you get more used to the feeling."

"O-Okay…" she nodded.

We moved to the adventurer guild’s interior, walked to the request board, and we glanced at all the quests. There was a bunch of requests asking for specific materials or monster materials from dungeons.

"Hmm, how about we pick some connected to a single dungeon for now?" asked Celeste.

"Suuure…" I nodded. "Hmm…"

"How about this?" Celica showed us a paper. "Blind Fish Catching! They want their cores! Also the Goo Farm is right next to it I’ve heard. So we could pick this other request. Goos are like slimes but monster, right?"

"I think so yeah," I nodded. "I’ve never heard of them that much though… I had no idea there were monster slimes out there."

"They’re different than the slimes we’ve seen," said Celeste. "I remember hunting some. They’re messy and disgusting masses of acid and liquid with eyes all over their bodies, jaws, and sometimes tentacles. Sometimes they merge with undead and create Ectoplasmic Undead." Continue your journey at

"That’s interesting!" said Celica. "I want to see those goos!"

"Okay sure, let’s hunt this… Ectoplasmic Goo King? It seems it’s a strong monster at C Rank… Alright, good enough for a quick dungeon hunting." I nodded. "What else… Hmmm."

"This one!" Ruby grabbed a paper.

"What’s this one?" I wondered.

"It’s for gathering of Coral Gems! They grow in the ponds where the blind fishes are," said Ruby.

"Oh, alright then! We’re set!" I nodded.
