Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1393: The Battle in the Dark

There was actually a sixth tier True Immortal in the Spirit Tip World!

Shang Xia wasn’t actually too surprised. Not too long after the fourth tier True Immortal appeared, he already discovered his presence. He just didn’t expose it at the start.

What Shang Xia was more interested in was how many high-level True Immortals the Spirit Tip World possessed other than those before him.

Shang Xia wasn’t naive enough to think that those were the only high-level True Immortals they had. To be able to resist the invasion of an Essence World, even if 2 other high-level True Immortals appeared the next moment, Shang Xia wouldn’t be surprised.

Naturally, he didn’t panic at all. With the appearance of the sixth tier True Immortal, Shang Xia was even more sure they wouldn’t dare to move against him easily. It was especially since they were facing the threat of the Essence Du World.

Indeed… After Shang Xia disclosed his origins, the sixth tier True Immortal of the Spirit Tip World smiled. “I am Guan Ziqing of the Spirit Tip World. He’s True Immortal Yang Cha.”

Shang Xia cupped his fists towards them and they quickly got acquainted.

Guan Ziqing continued, “True Immortal Shang, for you to reach our territory after traveling through the chaotic streams of space… Where are you planning to go next?”

Shang Xia didn’t hide his intentions. “My world is located in a relatively desolate region of space. It’s not easy to leave and we were looking for coordinates recorded by our predecessors. We were fortunate enough to avoid death while traversing the streams of chaotic space and we’re planning to enter the Chaotic Sea of Stars.”

Guan Ziqing exchanged a glance with Yang Cha and the latter eventually spoke, “You will need to be careful on your journey then. Since you wish to enter the Chaotic Sea of Stars, you will definitely pass through the region of space controlled by the Essence Du World. They won’t let you pass easily.”

“Why not?” Shang Xia raised an eyebrow curiously.

Yang Cha chuckled, “Looks like the records your predecessors left you are a little outdated. They don’t know that our world and the Essence Du World are at odds. Since we allowed you to pass, the Essence Du World wouldn’t do the same. Moreover, they’re trying to establish a Heavenly Field at the moment and our world is the only choice they used to have. With the appearance of your Spirit Luxuriant World, they have another target. They won’t let you leave easily.”

Shang Xia pretended to be astonished and he wondered out loud, “What can I do then?”

Seemingly having thought of something, Shang Xia cupped his fists at the 2 of them and asked, “Fellow True Immortals, do enlighten me…”

Guan Ziqing revealed a reluctant look before answering, “True Immortal Shang, it’s not that we aren’t willing to help. However, our world is also not in the best of positions to help you. We won’t be able to answer to the others and if you rush into our world, you will definitely make things difficult for us…”

Shang Xia thought for a moment before he proposed something. “I know that it’s a little rude to ask, but my journey is extremely important to my world. If you trust me, I will establish trade relations between our worlds once I return. How about it?”

For a random power to chart a path through the streams of chaos and for their world to be completely exposed… There was no way a powerful Spirit World like theirs could accept something like that from happening.

The Spirit Tip World wouldn’t dare to turn on the Spirit Luxuriant World that easily. However, they couldn’t allow Shang Xia and the rest to leave so easily either when they didn't know how to get to the other side.

Shang Xia seemed to understand their intentions, but he also had his concerns. He was afraid that if he revealed a path to the Spirit Luxuriant World, they would sabotage his return since he would no longer be of value to them. ṛAℕꝊВĘṢ

One had to know that Shang Xia and the rest were planning to bring a world fragment back to their world to hasten its growth. It was extremely important, and they couldn’t allow anyone else to learn of their route back to their world.

Fortunately, Guan Ziqing changed the topic suddenly, “True Immortal Shang, what do you think about the Essence Du World’s intention to establish a Heavenly Field?”

Acting a little interested, Shang Xia asked, “Establishing a Heavenly Field is their problem. However, the other worlds around them have to be willing to follow their lead. However… If an Essence World tries to force my Spirit Luxuriant World to establish their Heavenly Field with them, I will resist to my last breath.”

Guan Ziqing nodded with a smile. He seemed very satisfied with Shang Xia’s answer.

For him to ask a question like that suddenly, it was clear he had his reasons. Yang Cha quickly added, “Your Spirit Luxuriant World is able to pass through the chaotic streams to arrive here… I believe the distance between our worlds isn’t too large. We’re located in a rather desolate region of space and the Essence Du World cannot find enough worlds around to establish their Heavenly Field. That is why they had their sights set on us. If they know that you are also around… They won’t give up a chance to change their target to you in order to establish the Heavenly Field.”

Nodding slowly, Shang Xia chuckled, “I understand. Once I complete my business, our worlds will definitely work together. We will form an alliance to prevent being swallowed up by the Essence Du World. After all, we understand the principle behind us being interdependent on each other for survival.”

“Alright. If you understand, we will agree to your terms!” Guan Ziqing spoke suddenly. He reached a conclusion and established the alliance with Shang Xia without further debate.

Shang Xia didn’t mess around either. Even though they were separated by hundreds of miles of space between them, both sides slapped the air before them thrice with their right hand, forming a sort of handshake in the void.

Both sides lowered their hostility after they came to an agreement. However, Guan Ziqing asked again, “True Immortal Shang, since all of you plan to enter the Chaotic Sea of Stars, you will have to pass through the space controlled by the Essence Du World. However, because our world has been carrying out many operations to contact other worlds in the sea of stars, we established several spatial tunnels. Even though they’re not stable or 100 percent safe, you will be able to avoid the prying eyes of the Essence Du World. If you wish, we are willing to open up those passages to you.”

Yang Cha stared at Guan Ziqing in shock. He didn’t expect the sixth tier True Immortal to give them such an offer.

However… How could Shang Xia allow high-level True Immortals to board their Spirit Ark to lead the way easily? Thinking about how he couldn’t get them on board while still needing their spatial tunnels, he responded, “How can we trouble you for this? As long as you point us to one of the passages, we can head over ourselves. Of course, you can also lend us your Star Chart.”

Shang Xia wasn’t surprised they had other passages to the Chaotic Sea of Stars. After all, he had some level of understanding of powers outside the Star Curtain. Be it from Song Zhen or from the Twin Star Pirates and Wanyun Association, he learned a lot.

According to Song Zhen’s explanation, those paths should be used for smuggling and the risk of using them was large. However, they would most likely be able to avoid being detected.

In the end, Guan Ziqing handed a Star Chart to one of the spatial tunnels to Shang Xia before both sides bade each other farewell.

After seeing Shang Xia and the Spirit Luxuriant World’s fleet pass, Yang Cha suddenly asked, “True Immortal Guan, are we really going to form an alliance…”

“Do you think I decided on it too hastily?” Guan Ziqing completed what Yang Cha wanted to say.

With an awkward expression on his face, Yang Cha quickly composed himself. “Let’s not mention his identity at the moment. It doesn’t matter if he lied or not… How can you agree to an alliance so easily? Not only did you allow them to leave, you even revealed a secret spatial tunnel to them. We don’t even know where they’re located!”

The more he said, the more he felt that they had suffered a massive loss in their territory. Anger clouded his mind and he felt that the sixth tier True Immortal of their world failed to handle matters properly.

Guan Ziqing didn’t seem to care as he spoke casually, “Follow me.”

“Where are we going?” Yang Cha asked instinctively, but Guan Ziqing ignored his question and entered the void.

Yang Cha followed and both of them appeared in an asteroid belt tens of thousands of miles away in an instant.

After they arrived, Guan Ziqing asked, “Do you see what’s here?”

“Someone made a move in this place?” Yang Cha swept his gaze across his surroundings and asked in shock.

In the center of the asteroid belt was an empty region of space hundreds of miles wide. There was only a single massive rock in the middle that was tens of miles wide that was covered in 2 giant palm prints.

Guan Ziqing no longer spoke as he brought Yang Cha over to another region of space.

Yang Cha was no stranger to the region of space. He recalled there was an Earth Star 3,000 miles wide where many mortals lived.

He saw 2 massive parts completely stripped off the surface of the Earth Star after he arrived.

Guan Ziqing didn’t say anything else as he brought Yang Cha somewhere even further. They were hundreds of thousands of miles away from where they first met Shang Xia.

Yang Cha saw 3 patrolling Star Ships of their Spirit Tip World hovering in mid air.

With Yang Cha appearing, the streaks of light emerged from the ships and started to fly at them. Both True Immortals could see the look of the joy of staying alive in the eyes of those on board.

“How is it?” Guan Ziqing’s voice rang in his mind.

As they spoke, Guan Ziqing waved his sleeves, releasing the restriction on the Star Ships that were frozen in the void.

Yang Cha’s expression became a lot more serious than before and he muttered in a low voice, “Have you already come to blows with True Immortal Shang?”

Guan Ziqing nodded. “It’s like you have seen. When we were negotiating earlier, True Immortal Shang and I exchanged 3 blows. I failed to gain the advantage over him each time.”

“How is this possible?! He’s just a fifth tier True Immortal!” Yang Cha mumbled to himself.

As a high-level True Immortal himself, Yang Cha wouldn’t suspect Guan Ziqing of lying. However, that was precisely why he found it unbelievable.

As a fellow high-level True Immortal, he had to admit that Shang Xia’s achievements were legendary. Earlier, he didn’t even realize the other True Immortals went off to fight in the distance!

That only proved how big the gap between them was!

It was something he found hard to accept as he felt that the True Immortal of the Spirit Luxuriant World was only a single realm higher than him, but already had such godly skill.

“Do you get it now?” Guan Ziqing’s voice rang in his mind again. “I regard the world behind him highly, not just him alone.”

“There’s no need to mention a Spirit World. Someone of his skills is rarely seen even in an Essence World! If his world is willing to form an alliance with us, that would be for the best. As long as they are willing to help out to resist the Essence Du World, it would be great for us.” Guan Ziqing concluded.

Yang Cha was finally convinced. “I get it now. What amazing foresight…”

Guan Ziqing waved his hand and sighed, “We’re stretched too thin trying to resist the invasion of the Essence Du World. True Immortal Cai and Kuai are monitoring the Essence Du World’s movements and we can’t make more enemies now. Moreover… Both of us might not be able to take him down anyway!”

When the True Immortals of the Spirit Tip World were conversing, Shang Xia and the fleet returned to its original course. However, Shang Xia heaved a sigh of relief.

Song Zhen had been hovering outside the ship earlier while controlling it to continue flying forward. He couldn’t help but worry when Shang Xia was speaking to the True Immortals of the Spirit Tip World. Now that Shang Xia had returned, he could finally relax.

Even though Shang Xia also had a look of lingering fear on his face, Song Zhen knew that the danger had passed with his return. He couldn’t help but ask, “Lord, what did they say?”

Song Zhen wasn’t the only person who was curious. The members of the Tongyou Institution turned to stare at Shang Xia in unison.

With a smile reappearing on his face, Shang Xia mumbled, “Relax. The Spirit Tip World won’t be making things difficult for us for the time being. They even gave us a way to pass the Essence Du World.”

Even though the situation wouldn’t be as simple as he described, everyone on board nearly jumped in joy. They even sped up slightly.
