System's POV
Chapter 1048 - 1048: Have You Woken Up From Your Daydream? [Part 1]The evacuation of the Wanderers began in full.
They had done everything in complete secrecy, ensuring that news of their movement would not reach the ears of both the Jinns and the Artemians.
As requested by Thirteen, Cammazotz even personally went to annihilate the second scouting party the Dragonkin had sent to monitor the movements of the Wanderers.
“Don’t worry, I won’t evacuate with the others,” Roland said to Princess Laventia, who was currently hugging him tightly. “Zion said he would also remain and play an active role in the upcoming war. I plan to join the group he is planning to create.”
Princess Laventia didn’t know whether she should be happy or sad with Roland’s words.
A part of her was happy because he decided to stay, and the other part of her was sad because he was putting himself in danger for her sake.
Princess Laventia then wrapped her arms around Roland’s neck to give him a kiss, which the latter returned to the best of his ability.
The succubus princess enjoyed kissing him, and after a couple exchanges with her, Roland had picked up a few tricks.
Just as the two were about to take it to the next level, they heard a cough from a distance, making the two of them almost jump up in fright.
“The two of you shouldn’t be really doing this in the hallway,” Thirteen said. “Get a room, okay?”
As the teenage boy walked past them, the princess blushed. Although Thirteen showed no negative reaction, she still felt embarrassed about getting caught in a fit of passion in the wrong place.
Roland’s face had also turned beet red from embarrassment.
Fortunately, Zion had stopped them in time.
If things escalated, they might have been discovered doing something meant to be done behind closed doors.
Thirteen, who had walked a distance away from the two, received a notification from his communicator, informing him that the evacuation was progressing quite smoothly.
“Don’t let your guard down,” Thirteen said. “Once the Jinns or the Artemian Army detect something suspicious, things might become more complicated.”
“Zion, don’t raise a flag, okay?” Erica replied from the other side of the line. “You know better than anyone to not say things like that.”
“I know.” Thirteen nodded. “But even if something happens, I already made enough preparations. So in case anything happens, just evacuate in an orderly manner. Also, make sure that you evacuate as soon as possible. Don’t make me worry.”
“Okay.” Erica understood that Zion would be able to do things more efficiently if he didn’t need to worry about protecting others.
As much as she wanted to stay and help him, she was far too weak compared to the enemies they were about to face.
However, she was still curious why Thirteen allowed Roland to stay behind instead of letting him evacuate just like everyone else.
The teenage boy’s reply was, “Roland is a Hero. If his life is in danger, he will suddenly awaken his secret powers and survive through the sheer power of plot armor. You don’t have to worry about him.”
After ending his conversation with Erica, Thirteen walked out of the Headquarters of the Central Government to check the evacuation with his own eyes.
Dozens of helicopters were carrying passengers and equipment, all headed south.
The fleet of the Alliance were ready to receive the Wanderers, and at the same time, ready to provide support fire if any threats were to appear during the evacuation process.
Just to be safe, Thirteen had asked Jubei to place Nautilus in a location that would allow it to immediately take action if the threat level surpassed what the Wanderers could handle.
Hours passed by without any problem arising.
Only the bare minimum equipment was left in Casimir City as per the order of Thirteen, who said he planned to convert the city into his temporary base.
Camazotz’s and Zapar’s army would also take control of the city, using it as their foothold in Pangea.
But to prevent any problems from arising, he asked the two Majin Princes’ to wait until the evacuation was done.
Suddenly, Thirteen received an unexpected call from someone who had just arrived in this world not long ago.
“Well met, Zion Leventis.” Prince Aurelion’s projection appeared, looking arrogantly at the teenage boy as if the latter were one of his subordinates.
“Well met, Prince Aurelion,” Thirteen replied. “Is there anything you wish to discuss with me?”
“Surrender and become the strategist of the Jinn Army,” Prince Aurelion said. “I have heard that you are a very talented individual, and killing you will be a waste of your talents. This is why I will allow you to serve me. In return, you will be rewarded with anything that your heart desires.”
“I want world peace,” Thirteen replied. “Can you give me that?”
“Of course,” Prince Aurelion answered. “Once this world falls under my control, it will have peace that will last for eternity. And, you will become my right hand. You can see for yourself that everyone will be able to live peacefully.”
Thirteen couldn’t help but smirk because Princess Xynalia had already informed him of the Dragonkin’s arrogance.
However, Thirteen didn’t mind that arrogance.
Ambition was a natural trait that all rulers must possess, so he wasn’t too turned off by Prince Aurelion’s manner of speech.
“A very tempting offer,” Thirteen replied. “Can you give me until tomorrow to think about it?”
At that moment, the Prince of the Dragonkin laughed out loud, as if he heard the greatest joke ever.
A minute later, the prince stopped laughing and eyed the teenage boy with satisfaction.
“You’re really good with words,” Prince Aurelion said. “You ask me to give you time until tomorrow so your people can evacuate, right?
“A very daring move. Unfortunately, we have someone on our side who could see what is currently happening on your side from hundreds of miles away.”
Thirteen shrugged. Compared to what Prince Aurelion could see, he could see and hear better.
Not only did he have Athena, who could give him visuals straight from outer space, his demons were also lurking inside the city.
They were monitoring everything, always on the lookout for any tidbits of information that was shared between the Jinns.
But since he was smart, Thirteen would never shoot himself on the foot and tell the Prince, “I can also see, and hear what is happening near you.” Obviously, that would only limit the flow of information he could receive from his spies.
“So, are you rejecting my proposal?” Prince Aurelion asked.
“Didn’t you hear me?” Thirteen asked back. “I already said I’ll give you my answer tomorrow. I don’t want to serve someone who has hearing problems.”
Prince Zepharion, Princess Xynalia, and Prince Zorren, who were in the throne room, quickly did their best to stop themselves from laughing out loud. Honestly, they approved of the teenage boy’s strong stance of not giving the Dragonkin Prince an ounce of respect.
“It seems that I will have to make you understand your place, human,” Prince Aurelion said. “Don’t even think that you will be able to evacuate all of your people alive.”
“I don’t think you have what it takes to prevent my people from leaving,” Thirteen replied. “But I’d like to see you try. I just hope you will entertain me.”
“Entertain you?” Prince Aurelion sneered. “Very well, I will entertain you. I’ll have my men capture you, cut off your limbs, and carry you around so you can see how we annihilate your people.”
“Blah blah blah,” Thirteen said. “All bark, no action. Are you a Dragonkin or are you a dog? Oh, wait—dogs are better than you. You should apologize to them for existing.”
The Jinns, who had dog-like features that were also in the throne room, lowered their heads, not wanting the Prince to see the smirks on their faces.
Clearly, they had no love or care for the Dragonkin who thought that everyone was beneath them.
“Wait for me, Zion.” Prince Aurelion growled. “I’ll personally make you understand that opposing me is the worst decision you’ve ever made in your life.”
“Don’t keep me waiting,” Thirteen said before cutting the call.
He then tapped a few keys on his communicator, and the projection of Camazotz appeared in front of him.
“Time for work,” Thirteen said. “We are going to receive a VIP Guest. I want you to give him a warm welcome.”
“Good.” Camazotz replied. “I was starting to get bored. A little warmup is in order.”
The two then grinned at each other.
This wasn’t the first time they worked together.
Both of them already knew each other’s strength, which gave them the confidence to take on Prince Aurelion, who was about to mobilize his army and have them annihilate the Wanderers who refused to bow their heads to his rule.
