"I'm sorry who...?" Iris was stunned, it seemed like her ears were malfunctioning for a second.

Pausing for a second awkwardly, the Night Sister then smiled, "The Emperor and the current Demon Queen, Elder Tilrith. Both of them arrived on a demonic bird above our sky, and were asking for you. Hurry, the King is restless!"

Realizing that she hadn't heard it wrong, Iris quickly came out.

She limped out of the tree and looked up to see Rex and also Elder Tilrith above the castle.

"Can't you be more unthreatening Your Majesty...?" Iris' lips curved into a wry smile.

Rex's presence alone could already make King Jorik restless, the king constantly asked Iris whether there was any mishap while meeting Rex. Since Kyran had made it very clear, that the Dark Elf Kingdom was on their last leg, King Jorik was extremely stressed.

So seeing the Emperor arriving on a demonic bird must've spooked him greatly.

Even the people of the Dark Elf Kingdom came out and began praying for forgiveness.

"Help me go there, and calm the people. It's nothing bad," Iris commanded.

Upon hearing this, the Night Sister nodded—supported Iris by the arm before leaping away.

Meanwhile, above the demonic bird.

"Can't we go down? Why are we hovering above the king's castle like this?" Rex asked.

He looked down and saw the restlessness their act caused.

Dark Elves were on their knees, rubbing their hands together out of fear that somehow, one of them wronged the Emperor—and their time in this world was up. It was akin to an inmate begging to be spared.

Even King Jorik was already outside his castle, awaiting Rex to descend.

Hopefully, Rex would explain to him about their visit.

But his question was met by laughter from Elder Tilrith, she found Rex quite funny.

"Aren't their faces a delight to behold?" She asked in amusement—gazing down, at the literal thousands of Dark Elves trembling in fear. "Why do you think I wanted to become the queen? It's because of this... power. Don't act as if you don't like it"

Rex crossed his arms and shook his head.

It was true that to become as strong as both of them, the apex—of their own pyramid, one must be obsessed with power. Rex wanted to deny this inside but that would be naive—he knew that somewhere inside, he was also enthralled by power.

However, that was beside the case—he wouldn't deliberately do something like this.

I wanted her to enhance my soul in the Dark Elf Kingdom to make it convenient, but maybe I made the wrong choice. She was having fun bullying my people instead.

Clicking his tongue, Rex leaped down from the demonic bird.

Mavenna also descends along with him, she can't stand standing near Elder Tilrith for long.

Seeing those two, Elder Tilrith tilted her head, "Both of them are no fun..."

Landing on a red force platform, close enough to talk to King Jorik, Rex asked, "I'm sorry for the sudden visit, King Jorik. May I land in your courtyard—so that I can explain the situation and rest your anxious mind?"

"Yes, go ahead, Your Majesty" King Jorik nodded, allowing Rex to land.

Even though he was the Emperor, this is King Jorik's land—he must show respect.

Upon landing, Rex smiled and explained the situation.

He didn't waste time talking about the reason for his visit so that King Jorik wouldn't pass out from the stress as frankly speaking, King Jorik's face was already very pale right now, being visited like this was extremely nerve-wracking.

Once the situation was cleared, he could finally breathe easily.

"Go and calm the people," King Jorik whispered to his wife, the people must be addressed.

Pivoting back upward towards the demonic bird, with Elder Tilrith still riding on it arrogantly, King Jorik frowned, "I don't know what your situation is, but trusting Elder Tilrith, the Demon Queen herself who is an excellent schemer... Is it really the right thing to do?"

"No need to worry about me," Rex crossed his arms and smirked. "I can handle her"

Despite his hesitance, King Jorik nodded his head.

If anyone could handle making a deal with Elder Tilrith, Rex must be the one.

"So, care to provide me with a place to do what I need to do?" Rex finally asked.

King Jorik nodded and led Rex to a suitable place.

However, before going to that place—Rex would need to meet with Iris first.

Fortunately, Iris came knocking on the castle gate.

She came in a hurry when she was alerted of their arrival.

Elder Tilrith called for her name earlier to alert her so it wasn't surprising for her to be here.

"Your Majesty..." She approached, still walking funny from her wound.

Upon seeing she was still clearly in pain, the incident was still fresh, Rex frowned.

"You haven't recovered...?" He asked, a hint of worry in his tone.

Iris smiled weakly, "It was your attack, Your Majesty. What do you expect me to do?"

Recalling that it was him, who landed the blow, Rex could only scratch the back of his head, going berserk was still a dangerous path to take—even though it was one of his weapons. It would always pose a risk of harming the people around him.

He was told that Irs had help from Evelyn but she was still wounded in the process.

She was very lucky that Rex stopped there.

Averting her attention from him, Iris gazed at Mavenna on the side—before turning upward to the demonic bird, "Correct me if I'm wrong, Your Majesty. But I do not think the Demons are a part of our alliance"

"I have business with her only for this day" Rex answered firmly.

He already had a deal and Elder Tilrith promised that it would only take a day.

Of course, his soul must be strong enough to enter the Spirit Realm before she could leave.

If he couldn't achieve that then the deal would be canceled.

"Eh...?" Iris tilted her head in puzzlement. "Aren't you here to learn about the Tabaxis?"

"I am but that'll be after my deal with Elder Tilrith," Rex nodded before turning back towards King Jorik. "Shall we?"

Nodding his head, King Jorik proceed to lead Rex to a suitable place.

Since Rex needed somewhere secured and secluded from onlookers, King Jorik brought him to a place outside of the Dark Elf Kingdom's capital city. It belonged to King Jorik himself, he used this place whenever he needed to break through to a higher realm.

A personal place that only a few knew.

Rex and the others with him needed to travel about three miles to the east.

In this area, tall grass reaching above Rex's head covered the entire place—a normal person would easily get lost here. King Jorik was leading at the very front, he was the only one who knew about the place so he was there personally.

For about five minutes straight, Rex and the others seemed to be going in a circle.

It doesn't make sense.

"Hey, pointy ears, are you mocking us?" Elder Tilrith commented from behind sharply.

Upon hearing the insolent tone, King Jorik glanced at her sharply, "Just follow me"

"Look at that, you dare act insolent in front of me?" She rebuked angrily.

Rex stopped and turned towards Elder Tilrith, he didn't say anything and only stared at her.

Seeing this, Elder Tilrith clicked her tongue and decided to stop it.

It was clear that the look Rex was giving was a warning, King Jorik might be of a lower-rank race but he was under the Clarentium Empire. So if Elder Tilrith could not put respect on his name, at least show some respect for Rex and his empire.

Another five minutes passed and finally, a bright light could be seen ahead.

King Jorik stopped and turned towards Rex.

"Your Majesty, we're here," He said, moving to the side to reveal a portal.

Rex nodded and stepped into the portal first.

<Notice: the user has entered the Silken Citadel!>

Upon stepping inside, the cold breeze greeted Rex almost instantly.

He looked around and he found that he was standing on a circle-shaped platform on top of a massive citadel. On his left was the scenery of the night beach and the vast sea while on the right was towering uncharted floras.

It was a beautiful sight that calmed the nerves.

King Jorik stepped inside, and also turned towards the beach "A secret portal, a heirloom of the rulers before me. It heightened the senses of a Dark Elf, and provided an excellent place to meditate—and get closer to the Mother of Dark Nature. A place where Kings and Queens were birthed"

"Is it really okay for me to be here?" Rex asked while still gazing ahead.

Despite the sacred place, he didn't mind Rex being here, "It's okay..."

Rex then turned his eyes and darted them towards Elder Tilrith who also entered the place.

Seeing this, King Jorik smiled, "You're my Emperor, tolerating her is the least I could do"

Upon hearing this, Rex was surprised.

He didn't expect King Jorik to answer with that—he was pleasantly surprised.

Normally, a place such as this would be heavily guarded and kept secret so it was natural for Rex to be skeptical. He feared that King Jorik might've bore resentment for this but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Once he said that, King Jorik gave Rex a trinket, "Use this to open the portal again"

Rex nodded his head and accepted the trinket.

Giving one last look at Elder Tilrith, King Jorik excused himself and stepped out.

"Are you going to stay?" Rex asked, facing Iris who also followed them.

Iris nodded her head, "Can I stay?"

"You can," Rex nodded before pivoting towards Mavenna. "help her heal will you?"

"A Demoness wouldn't be able to heal a Dark E-"

"Stop giving me excuses, I know you can"

Rex waved his hand dismissively, she really hated doing anything other than lazying around.

Reluctantly, Mavenna did what she was told.

Seeing this—Elder Tilrith's eyes flashed, in excitement, "How did you make her obey you? I've never been able to keep her obedient no matter what I did to her. Can you tell me the secret? I'm really curious"

"Let's leave it at I'm better than you at controlling others" Rex smirked.

His response made Elder Tilrith wear the same smirk, she was having fun here.

"Stand at the center, I'll start now," She suddenly said, pointing at the center.

Upon hearing this, Rex nodded and went over and stood there.

System, keep alerting me of what Elder Tilrith is doing. I want to know everything she did to me. Purchase any information necessary, I don't want her playing tricks on me.

<Affirmative!>

Despite for some reason feeling trusting of Elder Tilrith that she wouldn't try and do anything bad to him, Rex still needed to be alert. Elder Tilrith soon followed. She approached elegantly—circling Rex with her index finger playfully touching him.

Both Mavenna and Iris had their eyes fixed on them.

None of them knew the deal between Rex and Elder Tilrith was.

It was a secret and they were eager to find out.

Elder Tilrith circled him two times before she stood in front, her eyes were eying something.

She seemed to be looking at Rex's chest—but it was more like she was looking through him.

Just then—before Rex could even ask the question in his mind, the spot around Elder Tilrith's eyes darkened. Her veins also bulged as hell-void energy began to seep out of her. And once she was ready, she placed her index finger on Rex's solar plexus.

"Loosen your defense or this won't work"

"What are yo-"

Bam!

Not even giving Rex the time to finish his sentence, Elder Tilrith made her move.

She hit Rex with a palm strike, the concentrated hell-void energy pierced through him.

Upon feeling the hit, Rex widened his eyes when he felt like his breath was taken away and once he realized what happened, he gasped. Elder Tilrith's palm strike knocks the soul, out of his body.

Rex was now in his astral form, seeing his own fleshy body in front of him, "Woah..."
