Chapter 732: Chapter 732: Who Told You to Be So Beautiful

Luo Ziling certainly knew that Ling Haining, Ling Haijun, and other members of the Ling Family were definitely discussing how to take revenge on him, even to the extent of wanting to put him and Ling Ruonan to death.

But in his wildest dreams, he couldn’t imagine that Ling Haining was planning a scheme that was somewhat inhumane, intending to doom him and his family beyond recovery.

Of course, what he hoped for the most right now was for Lin Lan to recover her health as soon as possible.

After waking up from a sleep, he checked on Lin Lan’s physical condition very carefully once again.

With Phoenix gone, only he and Lin Lan were left in the hotel, in a situation not much different from when he had saved her back in the little mountain village.

Lin Lan’s wound needed a change of dressing, and its healing progress had to be checked, so after Luo Ziling woke up and saw that Lin Lan was also showing signs of awakening, he prepared to change her dressing.

Having slept well, Lin Lan woke up from her sleep and saw Luo Ziling standing by the bed. She was startled and then closed her eyes once more.

“Are you hungry? I can feed you something. After eating, you should regain some strength, and then I can treat your wound and change the dressing,” Luo Ziling said softly as he sat by Lin Lan’s bed, holding her hand to explain the situation. “You seem to be recovering well, better than I expected, and the wound should be healing nicely too.”

Lin Lan tried to pull her hand away from Luo Ziling but lacked the strength, so she let him hold it.

Luo Ziling took the opportunity to take her pulse, and then he checked her pulse and breathing before going to get the porridge and soup that had been kept warm in hot water, ready to feed Lin Lan.

Lin Lan resisted a bit, but under Luo Ziling’s insistence, she finally didn’t stand firm, letting Luo Ziling prop her up.

Lin Lan was not wearing clothes, and in the process of propping her up, body contact was inevitable, but he tried his best not to touch her sensitive areas to avoid embarrassment.

After Lin Lan was comfortably propped against the bed, Luo Ziling took the still warm porridge and soup, and began feeding her.

“Who would have thought, after just a few months, a similar scene reappears,” Luo Ziling mused while feeding Lin Lan, “When you snuck away back then, I was regretting that I might never see you again, and that the events of those days would never occur again. Unexpectedly, after coming to Yanjing, not only did I encounter you again, but also repeated the scenes of those days.”

Hearing Luo Ziling say this, Lin Lan’s nose felt sour, and she had the sensation of wanting to cry, not knowing why she felt this way.

“Eat more; you need to eat to have the strength, to recover your health as soon as possible,” seeing that Lin Lan didn’t have much appetite, Luo Ziling forced her to eat, “I gave you several special medicines, as long as there’s a breath in you, your life can be saved. My grandfather only made twenty of those pills, and I gave you three at once. For the sake of these three life-saving pills, you should listen to me.”

After listening to Luo Ziling ramble on for a bit, Lin Lan finally cooperated, opening her mouth as wide as possible to eat the food he was feeding her.

It was strange indeed, when Phoenix was feeding her earlier, she felt a bit of difficulty swallowing, but with Luo Ziling feeding her, she actually tasted something very nice. Unknowingly, half a bowl of porridge was consumed.

Luo Ziling fed her some very nourishing soup and didn’t stop until he felt she had enough.

While feeding Lin Lan, Luo Ziling’s mouth never stopped chattering away, mostly complaining that she shouldn’t have gone on a mission without fully recuperating, and grumbling about Phoenix and Li Haiyang. But Lin Lan knew that Luo Ziling cared about her and didn’t want to see her get hurt, which warmed her heart.

Luo Ziling’s nagging didn’t bother Lin Lan in the slightest.

“Feel better after eating your fill?” After helping Lin Lan lie down again, Luo Ziling said with a smile, “Prepare yourself mentally, because I’m going to check your wounds and change your dressings.”

Lin Lan nodded gently and then closed her eyes.

Luo Ziling turned up the heat on the air conditioner and switched on all the lights. He donned an LED headlamp he had brought from the bedroom and arranged all the necessary tools and medications before peeling back the blanket covering Lin Lan.

With the blanket covering her lower body removed, her injured areas, along with her long legs, were exposed to Luo Ziling.

Luo Ziling didn’t get distracted; instead, after unwrapping the bandages around Lin Lan’s body, he carefully examined her wounds and changed the dressings.

“Not to brag, but the way your wound is healing now, if you had gone to the hospital, it would have taken at least ten days to reach this stage,” Luo Ziling said as he began to wrap new bandages around Lin Lan, puffing himself up to reassure her. “You were wise to think of me when you got injured. I reckon if you had been treated in the hospital, to fully recover would have taken at least six months. Here with me, you’ll definitely be completely healed in a month, but that’s assuming you don’t leave without saying goodbye like last time.”

Since Luo Ziling had applied anesthesia with acupuncture while changing her dressings, Lin Lan hardly felt any pain. Having regained some strength after eating, she also had the energy to speak.

“It was a special circumstance last time. Everyone was worried about me, so they came to pick me up. And because we were afraid of revealing my identity, they had to wait until you left the house before they could come for me.”

Hearing Lin Lan actually start to explain, Luo Ziling was naturally delighted and asked curiously, “How did you manage to contact your comrades then?”

After catching her breath, Lin Lan replied, “You should have guessed it without asking, right? Actually, they could have rescued me that very day. But seeing as my injuries were severe and they didn’t detect any hostility from you, they let me recuperate at your place.”

“So it seems if I had any untoward intentions towards you at that time, your comrades would have stormed in and turned me into a beehive, right?” Luo Ziling said with a self-deprecating look. “Lucky for me, I’m a gentleman and wouldn’t take advantage of others in distress.”

Lin Lan blushed as she recalled the events of that time and the fact that Luo Ziling had just seen her body’s secrets.

She didn’t deny Luo Ziling’s speculation, “If you had had any improper intentions, there definitely would have been trouble.”

“Actually, I did have some improper thoughts. Who could blame me when you’re so beautiful and have such a great figure?” Seeing that Lin Lan’s complexion hadn’t worsened after their exchange, but rather improved to a healthy glow, Luo Ziling knew her mood had lifted and couldn’t help teasing her, “If you tried to seduce me, maybe I would have done a bad thing.”

Lin Lan’s face turned red instantly.
