“Life force-”
The first one to respond to Wiesha's comment about it sucking up life force was Gashan.
“Then isn’t it dangerous?”
Wiesha sighed as Gashan commented with a scowl on his face.
“That-”
“Please let me explain.”
The Elf Guardian stepped forward.
While she moved, Cale looked toward the direction they came from.
On the other side of the deep and endless pit that was shining colorfully in five colors… There was a small underground cave.
The secret base was an underground cave beneath the forest. The cave was made for minimal survival without any proper living considerations and was as complicated as an ant house.
It could not be compared to the Dark Elves’ Underground City. It was so shabby that forget city, it was almost unfitting to even call this a base.
‘It cannot be helped. This is best in order to avoid Ryan’s surveillance and to prepare for the worst.’
Cale recalled the words of the Elf Guardian before he heard her again.
“We were actually digging a cave to infiltrate into Ryan’s palace when we found a large sinkhole.”
That was this large pit.
“Since it was a pit that gave off five colors of radiant light, we thought it was weird and started to investigate. We then learned that this light was the same as the light that the World Tree used to release every so often.”
The World Tree touched the flow of this world.
"We used that as the foundation for our investigation and learned that we are able to reach the foundation of this world by going through this pit.”
After that, they naturally tried a few times to reach the foundation and Wiesha and the Elf Guardian managed to reach the foundation.
“The foundation has currently had most of her power taken away. Because of that, it is hard for her to control herself.”
Cale looked toward the Elf Guardian after hearing the term, ‘control.’
“We do not have the time for me to explain everything in detail, so, to keep it short, the foundation is currently focusing all of her attention in order to not lose herself. As a result, she is unable to protect the invaders stepping into her territory.”
“However, after you reach the foundation of this world once and receive her touch, you will not lose life force even after going into this domain.”
“It’s just that the first time is hard.”
“You can either get injured like Wiesha or get older like I did. Or-”
The Elf pointed to a few people standing behind her.
There were numerous individuals, aside from Wiesha and the Elf Guardian, who had important duties in this secret base.
They welcomed Cale’s group but were wary of them as well.
“Or you may even receive a different side effect like them.”
“Mm.”
Gashan let out a deep groan. His gaze turned toward Cale.
The others did the same as well. Tasha, Pendrick, etc… They looked at Cale with concerned gazes but none of them could easily open their mouths.
‘Will you go?’
If they asked that, they now knew that Cale would answer ‘yes.’
The issue at hand was whether to send him alone or for others to go with him.
“…….”
“…….”
Everybody became silent.
Cale’s group and the others all could not get themselves to speak. However, Tasha looked at Wiesha with a slightly stiff look on her face.
“Shouldn’t you have told us in advance about something like this?”
‘Then we could have come up with a plan!’
Pendrick opened his mouth as if to agree with her.
“Even if young master Cale-nim does not personally reach the foundation of this world, can’t he chat through this Elf Guardian-nim here?”
“No. That's too cumbersome.”
Pendrick flinched.
He looked at the person who gave the stern response.
“…Young master-nim.”
As expected, Cale looked ready to go into that pit with no hesitation at all.
It was at that moment.
“That’s right, it is cumbersome!”
He heard a bright voice.
“!”
Gashan's eyes opened wide as he looked toward Raon.
‘Now that I think about it…’
The people who would normally stop Cale in these situations were quiet.
Choi Han, On, Hong, Lock… Gashan saw what the four of them were doing before his eyes clouded over.
They were already looking at Raon. Raon, who should have been throwing the biggest fit, was calm. They calmly waited as well.
They waited for what Raon had to say.
“Human, you are not an unbalanced existence.”
‘Ah.’
That made Gashan think about
‘The inside of that place is a place of balance. It sucks the life force out of any existence that is not in balance.’
After hearing that Elves, Beast people, and Dwarves all lost life force inside this pit, Gashan thought that any existence other than the foundation of this world would lose life force.
However, he needed to first consider what it meant to be a place of balance.
"What is balance?”
Gashan asked and Wiesha opened her mouth to respond.
However, there was someone who started to speak first.
“The five major attributes of nature are forming a balance inside there. An unbalanced existence is probably talking about anybody who does not have all of those attributes.”
It was Cale.
Wiesha looked at Cale in shock.
“How did you-”
How did you know? Wiesha saw Cale start to smile before she even finished her question and closed her mouth.
Raon happily chatted away.
“That’s right! I could tell immediately after taking a look as well! This is a place where only someone who has balance can enter! That is why our human is safe!”
“!”
“!”
Wiesha, the Elf Guardian, and the others’ eyes opened wide.
“What do you mea-”
“Is it possible…….”
A literal understanding of the young Dragon’s words made them come to an unbelievable conclusion.
“Oh savior, do you have all five major attributes inside your body?”
The Elf Guardian asked and Cale looked at her before he flinched.
‘…This is a bit overboard.’
The Elf was looking at Cale with an excessively sparkling gaze.
It prevented him from answering right away, when…
“That’s right! Our human has even more attributes inside of him!”
Raon ended up answering.
“My goodness.”
Wiesha gasped.
It sounded a bit excessive.
‘Mm.’
Cale suddenly had a question.
‘…Are there ancient powers in this world?
I don’t think so?
Then is it even possible for a human in this world to have multiple attributes?
Uhh… Mm.’
As an unexplainable sense of leeriness slowly rose up Cale’s back…
“A human that is like the foundation of this world. I now know that there can be such an existence.”
That was from Wiesha.
“…Savior, that title was not just for show.”
That came from a Dwarf.
“My goodness. Is he basically another foundation?”
It was a different Elf who made this comment that would make Cale gasp.
And finally, the Elf Guardian-
Grab.
She grabbed both of Cale’s hands and spoke desperately with a passionate gaze in her eyes.
“Please, please save this world!”
‘Uhh, mm…’
Cale pulled his hands out without any hesitation.
He then nonchalantly commented.
“It is not my job to save the world.”
He sternly drew a line.
“I will be leaving after taking care of the Purple Bloods.”
He showed an extremely stern demeanor.
“The rest is for the foundation of this world and all of you to figure out. Saving Aipotu is the duty of the creatures of Aipotu. It is not something an outsider like me to do.”
‘Ah.’
Wiesha and the Elf Guardian both gasped.
Choi Han groaned.
‘Hmm?’
Yes, Choi Han groaned instead of gasping. Cale slowly turned his head to look at Choi Han. The two of them made eye contact.
Nod.
Choi Han nodded his head with a serious look on his face. The determined face made Cale feel unexplainably leery, but he heard an even iffier voice in his ears.
"Sir, you truly are the savior.”
The Elf Guardian’s gaze became even more passionate. Cale didn’t know why, but he thought that she wouldn’t step out of bounds as he clearly set the bar on what he was here to do.
– Cale, it doesn’t seem like there is any reason for our life force to be sucked out.
Cale listened to the Super Rock, who had been saying since earlier that it was safe, and looked away from the Elf as well as the other individuals from Aipotu.
He then quickly walked over to the pit that was radiantly glowing in five colors.
“You guys stay here.”
“I got it!”
Raon waved his front paw.
Cale thought that it was good the children averaging ten-years-old were letting him go without any issues and stepped into the pit.
Wiesha said something at that moment.
“Ah. Sir, you are going to fall right down so please don't be shocked.”
However, that comment came a bit too late.
“!”
Cale's body fell down the moment he took a step.
‘Eek!’
He was so shocked that he couldn’t say anything and got sucked into the pit.
“He truly is not having his life force sucked out.”
Wiesha quietly mumbled while watching Cale fall into the five colors of light and disappear and the Elf Guardian commented as well.
“…He looked nonchalant until the end. Do you think he is used to things like this?”
However, none of Cale’s group answered her question. They simply looked at the pit, where they could no longer see Cale, and just waited for his return.
As for Cale, he opened his mouth inside the five colors of light.
“What the…?”
His body continued to descend without stopping.
No, he was being sucked in.
He looked down.
He could not see the end.
He thought he would fall until the bottom of the world.
– Cale.
He heard a familiar voice for the first time in a long while.
– I'm hungry.
The Indestructible Shield. The glutton priestess was speaking.
“Hmm?”
‘She's hungry?
Why all of a sudden?’
– That looks delicious.
‘Hmm?’
– Gulp.
He heard a gulp.
Cale subconsciously got the chills and looked around.
He took a closer look at the five colors of light and each light was made up of small little pebbles.
They sort of resembled the bubbles that came up when you flipped the inside of the sea around.
Gulp.
“Hmm?”
Cale subconsciously flinched.
‘Did I just gulp?
But I'm not hungry?
And what did I see that made me gulp?’
He saw the radiant pebbles of light again.
More of those light pebbles surrounded him the farther he went down.
– Gulp.
Gulp.
The glutton priestess and Cale gulped at the same time.
‘Eek!’
Cale became shocked when he suddenly heard a faint voice from below.
– N, nooooooooooooooo—!
It was the voice of a little girl who sounded to be around three years old.
She sounded extremely teary.
– P. please, hick, hiccup. Please, don't take it away from me and eat it… Sob, sob.
She was crying.
‘Mm.
This should be the voice of the foundation of this world.’
– Sob. Sniff!
He could now hear her sniffling.
– P, please save me… soooooooob–!
Now she was wailing loudly.
Cale reached his hand out.
As he reached into an area full of radiant light… Cale's body no longer fell down.
Instead, his gaze focused on the center of the radiant lights.
There was a large orb in there.
It looked to be the size of a house.
Cale’s hand reached that orb.
Knock knock.
He tapped on the glass-like surface and the figure inside the orb looked at Cale.
– Sniff, sniff.
The little girl tried to sniff back her snot but there was already some dripping down her nose.
Taking a look at her, she seemed more like a four year old.
Her long hair covered the orb like seaweed and fluttered around.
He could see a face barely holding back tears through the hair.
“Are you the foundation of this world? Aipotu?”
As the child nodded at Cale’s question and sniffled again.
– I’m hungry. I should be able to beat those gods from last time if I eat these. Gulp.
He heard the glutton priestess’s voice, and…
– Soooooob! J, just now, g, gulp…! You gulped, sooooob!
The four year old foundation of this world wailed loudly again.
‘Oops.’
Cale wiped his mouth.
He had subconsciously licked his lips. For some odd reason, he was suddenly hungry.
He was truly hungry.
‘Should I have brought some apple pies?’
He seriously thought about it and answered honestly.
“I have no plans of stealing your powers.”
The foundation of this world flinched before wiping the tears off her eyes and looking at Cale.
-…Really?
“Yeah. Really.”
‘If I take your powers, this world will crumble.
Why would I do something like that?’
Cale nodded his head to give confirmation to the girl looking at him.
The little girl’s lips started shaking.
She soon opened her mouth.
– As expected, you are an angel! You are nicer than the gods! Waaaaaaaaaaaaah–!
She was crying.
She was wailing loudly again.
– Soooob, angel Cale Henituse! Sooooooob, silver light shield angel Cale Henituse! Soooooob!
Cale’s face instantly turned unsettled.
– This kid is weird too.
He heard the Super Rock’s voice.
Cale knew a bit about how to handle these worlds now.
Knock knock.
Cale knocked on the surface of the orb again and smiled.
He then spoke gently.
“Hey. I'm going to leave if you keep crying?”
-!
The child's pupils shook. She then held back her tears. Cale wondered if she was being pretentious like Central Plains, but she was really trying her best to barely stop.
Cale spoke gently again after watching this.
“You, you know how to restore the aura of the world, right?”
He got right to the point.
Nod nod.
– I, I know! Sniff.
She answered properly despite sniffling.
“You want my help with that?”
– Y, yeah! That’s right!
She clenched both fists and nodded her head in agreement. She was nodding her head so vigorously that her long hair was fluttering around inside the orb.
“How do I do that?”
– I, it’s a bit long to explain.
“Really? Ah. Oh right.”
There was something Cale had to tell the foundation of this world.
He pulled the Central Plains statue out of his pocket. He had made sure to pack it before coming here. It was a bit cracked, but a seed was still inside it.
“This is a statue with the power of Aipotu’s World Tree. I heard this could become the seed of a World Tree-”
Cale flinched in the middle of the sentence.
Boom!
The foundation of this world put her forehead against the surface of the orb. She must have slammed her head as it made a large noise, but…
The foundation of this world did not seem to care at all.
Her chubby cheeks were squished against the surface of the orb but the child shouted.
– W, where did you get that-?!
Her voice was shaking.
And…
– S, soooooooob! You really are silver light angel! Soooooooooooob.
She was crying again.
– It is m, much easier if we have that! My power, sob, keeps seeping out through the World Tree, but just stopping that will allow me to combine my powers with you to restore the aura of the world. Sob.
‘She's very good at talking while crying.
She is enunciating very well.’
– You just need to become my representative and sweep through the aura of this world once! Sob.
‘Hmm?’
“Hey, hold on-”
– It should be easy because you have achieved balance! You just have to reestablish this world one time! Sob, sob!
‘What?
She wants to become the representative of the foundation of this world to reestablish this world once?
That’s easy?’
– Soooooob. I can’t believe you have a seed! You truly are silver light angel Cale Henituse!
Sob sob.
Cale quietly watched the foundation of this world tear up.
His mind was a complicated mess.
“What… do you want me to do? Reestablish this world?”
– Sniff. Yeah! That!
Cale subconsciously commented back.
‘How can I do something so big-’
“But I'm a human. How can a regular human like me do something like that?”
– Sniff.
The foundation of this world stopped crying.
She looked at Cale in disbelief.
– Hmm?
“Hmm?”
– Y, you can do it?
“I can do it?”
– Yeah, you too c, can do it if you are with me!
The foundation of this world looked at Cale with a sparkle in her eyes.
“Ho.”
Cale couldn't believe what he was hearing.
