Chapter 183: Sword Against Blade—Li Xuan Falls, Another Destined Child Slain!

Li Xuan, now possessed by an ominous force, stood where the village chief had fallen, becoming the new “chief.”

Although the curse had taken his sanity, it left him with one emotion intact: hatred for Lin Qi’an.

“I… I will kill you!” The mutated Li Xuan’s strength had surged to the Dao Transformation Realm, making him not only powerful but effectively immortal.

Against such a foe, the others hesitated, uncertain of how to fight him.

Li Xuan transformed into a crimson streak of light and charged.

Clang!

Fireworks erupted as his blade collided with Lin Qi’an’s sword.

Those who opposed Lin Qi’an felt relieved—Li Xuan’s fury was directed solely at him. All they had to do was fend off the ordinary villagers and hope Lin Qi’an succumbed to the curse or died in battle.

However, Zhao Yunji and Lin Liuli had no intention of leaving Lin Qi’an to fend for himself.

“Leave me alone! Handle the villagers. I can take care of this,” Lin Qi’an shouted, knowing he was immune to the curse and could focus entirely on the fight.

If he could kill Li Xuan, he’d not only gain the reward for killing a Destined Child but also secure the key to opening the stone gate.

Under the blood-red sky, the villagers roared and unleashed their techniques. Spells flew, and the clash of blades echoed as chaos reigned.

Amidst the pandemonium, Lin Qi’an and Li Xuan moved at blinding speeds, appearing as streaks of gold and crimson colliding repeatedly.

“Lin Qi’an!” Li Xuan roared. “I may have become a monster, but I will not rest until one of us is dead!”

“My master couldn’t defeat your father, but I, Li Xuan, will defeat you!”

Empowered by rage, Li Xuan unleashed his Eight Desolations Tyrant Blade Technique.

This technique abandoned all defense, focusing every ounce of his strength on relentless, overwhelming attacks. It was the ultimate offensive ability, perfectly suited for his current state.

Swinging his massive crimson blade wildly, Li Xuan’s attacks grew fiercer with each strike. His hands moved so fast they left afterimages.

He had already unleashed thirty-six strikes, each collision of blade and sword triggering massive explosions.

Behind Lin Qi’an, the remnants of the battlefield lay in ruin—walls shattered, the ground cracked, and chaos everywhere.

“Li Xuan’s blade intent is still rising!” Lin Liuli exclaimed, worry evident in her eyes.

By now, Li Xuan had unleashed forty-nine strikes, his attacks becoming increasingly devastating. Each blade intent surpassed the last, like endless waves crashing down.

For Li Xuan, this technique was his ultimate gamble, but for the onlookers, it was a glimmer of hope.

“This is perfect…” Jin Lingkong and Kui Xiao thought, grinning inwardly.

If Li Xuan managed to kill Lin Qi’an, everything in this forbidden area would be theirs. The two women standing by his side posed no threat.

The blade intent continued to build, peaking at sixty-four strikes. By this point, every swing of Li Xuan’s blade carried the power to obliterate a Celestial Realm expert.

Yet Lin Qi’an, a prodigy at the pinnacle of the Celestial Realm, stood firm, enduring each blow without showing much strain.

Any other cultivator would have been killed with a single strike, but Lin Qi’an bore the relentless assault with remarkable composure.

“Why aren’t you fighting back? Are you an idiot?” Bai Jiuli snapped. As the spirit of the bell on his waist, she had the clearest view of the fight.

Even though Li Xuan’s attacks were terrifying, Lin Qi’an clearly had the means to counter. He hadn’t even unleashed his dragon might yet.

“Are you seriously waiting for his blade intent to reach a hundred? Do you want to get killed by a single strike?”

“Quiet. Just watch.”

“Hmph! Fine! Handle it yourself then. Don’t expect me to help!” Bai Jiuli huffed.

‘Seventy-nine strikes.’

‘Eighty strikes.’

‘Eighty-one strikes.’

The eighty-first strike crashed down like a mountain, even causing Lin Qi’an’s Nine Yang Divine Sword to tremble.

Still, Lin Qi’an refused to counter. He was waiting—for Li Xuan’s ultimate strike.

“Lin Qi’an! Even now, you’re still so arrogant!” Li Xuan roared, his face distorted with blood-red veins, his arms rotting, and his eyes glowing with a sinister crimson light.

At last, he unleashed his ninety-ninth strike.

Boom!

The heavens and earth seemed to explode as the strike obliterated the entire village. Even the cursed villagers were reduced to unrecognizable pulp.

Yet, Lin Qi’an still stood, his sword resonating with an unyielding hum.

“Die!” Li Xuan screamed, raising his blade high for the final blow.

This was the ultimate strike. The blade gleamed with an aura capable of cutting down even a peak Dao Transformation Realm cultivator.

“Can it kill Lin Qi’an?” someone murmured.

“Maybe he’ll succeed where the Blade Emperor failed!”

The deafening roar of the attack drowned out all sound. For a moment, the world seemed to fall silent, as though holding its breath for the outcome.

Crack…

Li Xuan’s blade shattered. A sacred weapon, reduced to fragments!

“What just happened?”

“How could it be Li Xuan’s weapon that broke?”

Everyone was in utter shock.

In the air, both of them were still standing. Lin Qi’an remained unharmed, while Li Xuan’s weapon lay in pieces. The victor was clear.

But why? The most powerful strike had come from Li Xuan—how had he lost?

Zhao Yunji, her eyes shimmering with golden light and her beauty otherworldly, provided the answer.

Her Autumn Pupil Divine Eyes pierced through everything, leaving no detail unseen.

“Lin Qi’an… also struck. It was an incredibly fast sword strike,” she explained.

Only two people had seen Lin Qi’an’s sword move.

One was Bai Jiuli, who now stared in stunned silence. She hadn’t expected this guy to be such a talent—even in the Upper Realm, he would be considered an exceptional prodigy.

The other was Zhao Yunji, whose divine eyes had caught the brilliance of the sword light, faster than lightning.

“You’re saying Lin Qi’an not only blocked Li Xuan’s strongest attack but also destroyed his sacred weapon with a single sword strike?” someone asked, their voice trembling with disbelief.

“Exactly.”

The crowd was stunned, each person silently admitting they wouldn’t have been able to block that strike, let alone counter it.

But why had Lin Qi’an deliberately waited for Li Xuan to unleash his ultimate attack?

Lin Liuli, pondering deeply, spoke up. “He didn’t use dragon might or divine fire—just the sword techniques of Tianjian City.”

Her words brought a sudden realization to everyone, followed by even greater shock.

In the past, the Sword Emperor and Blade Emperor had fought a legendary battle. The Blade Emperor, with a century of accumulated blade intent, had lost to the Sword Emperor.

Now, Li Xuan had swung a hundred strikes, clearly imitating his master’s attempt to reclaim the honor of their sect.

Yet Lin Qi’an didn’t rely on external powers or divine artifacts. He simply used his sword to defeat Li Xuan, crushing both his strength and his pride.

“This wasn’t just a victory—it was a psychological deathblow.”

“Too ruthless!”

Both of them had used sacred weapons of equal rank. The fact that Li Xuan’s blade broke meant only one thing: his skills were inferior.

“Lin Qi’an’s aura is rising!”

“Did he just break through?” Lin Liuli’s radiant eyes filled with joy.

Indeed, during that epic clash, Lin Qi’an’s mastery of Tianjian City’s hallmark technique, Sword Manifestation, had advanced, bringing his cultivation level up with it.

“Ahhh!” Li Xuan’s voice broke as his mind and spirit crumbled completely.

But Lin Qi’an was done playing. With the key already in hand, he had no reason to prolong this.

With a sharp thrust of his sword, he pierced Li Xuan’s chest.

The Nine Yang Divine Fire ignited instantly, engulfing Li Xuan in flames and reducing him to a burning figure that collapsed to the ground.

Moments later, his body disintegrated into ash.

Additional rewards would be tallied after the mission ended.

When Lin Qi’an returned, the others were still processing what had just happened. The battle between blade and sword had left an indelible impression on them all.

Li Xuan had seemed to hold an overwhelming advantage, yet he had fallen to Lin Qi’an. What kind of monster was Lin Qi’an? How could anyone kill him?

Xi Chao, in particular, was paralyzed with fear. Earlier, he had schemed with Li Xuan to kill Lin Qi’an by using the power of the forbidden area.

Li Xuan had indeed used that power, yet not only was he defeated—he was utterly humiliated, his death a psychological and physical annihilation.

Killing Lin Qi’an would require a power beyond the Dao Transformation Realm. Only by surpassing him by an entire level could one hope to triumph.

“Are you okay?” Lin Liuli asked with concern.

“I’m fine. Let’s open the door.” Glancing at the undead villagers, who were slowly recovering, Lin Qi’an decided not to waste more energy on them. Entering the stone gate was the smarter move.

“Hurry, open the door!”

When Lin Qi’an inserted the key into the gate, the restrictive enchantment dissolved with a resounding boom, and the gate creaked open.

“You think you deserve to come with us?” Lin Liuli glared at the others with displeasure.

“What do you mean? We helped fight off the villagers! Why shouldn’t we go in?” someone protested.

“Let it go, Liuli. Let them come,” Lin Qi’an said calmly.

If they didn’t come in, how would he find opportunities to eliminate them later?

Killing them would increase his rewards, and having a few extra pawns around might be useful against stronger enemies inside.

“Hmph, how magnanimous of you, Crown Prince,” one of them sneered as they followed into the stone chamber, unaware of the danger lurking ahead.
