Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1048: A Fifty Fifty Plan

Deep underground, in the dark surface where there was next to no light, Zon was moving around like a mad man, as if his life depended on it. He was shooting beams from his hands at the walls, even moving across and using his own fists to punch the power stones of the walls.

He then fired as many lasers as he could, with some needing more effort compared to others. As he had finished with those across the bottom, Zon started to levitate in the air, using the strange energy he produced out of the soles of his feet to raise himself.

He then continued to fire all around.

As for Lince, who had been watching everything so far, he too had joined in with helping Zon. Using his Qi and techniques, he continued to destroy the crystals one after another, not leaving one of them untouched.

"So, are you going to tell me what's the use in destroying all of these crystals!" Lince shouted. A part of him felt like it was such a waste.

So many of these power stones were clearly at a high level. They could have been used to forge strong weapons or Qi pills, and instead, they were just crumbling into mere fragments.

"I don't know if what I'm doing will work or not," Zon answered as he still continued to fire out of the palm of his hands, not wasting any time. "I believe what we are doing has a fifty- fifty chance of working, but if it works, it will be better for all of us."

It wasn't the answer that Lince wanted, but it was the answer that had to do for now.

On the battlefield for the first time in a battle, Raze had used a new formation, the Phantom Edge Formation. He had been studying the other formations of the Dark Edge Sword Arts for a while, but there was something missing in the other formations.

Something that he couldn't put his finger on which would allow him to use some of the other formations. When he had battled against Belil and had seen the formations firsthand, Raze had a clearer picture.

A clearer picture of what they were meant to be like, and a clearer picture of how to use Qi correctly in order to perform the moves. The links he was missing had matched up, and if he could perform the moves using Qi, then he could do so using magic.

For now though, without the use of magic, the Dark Edge Sword Arts were what he could rely

on.

Raze stood there with his translucent weapon, and then he dashed forward, rushing ahead, heading straight for Mosak.

Seeing Raze come his way, Mosak swung his spear across the floor, and an entire line of aura had gone out, scraping across the floor. Raze had jumped up, avoiding the hit, and swung his blade from above.

All of this was quite predictable, and it allowed Mosak to predict where Raze was going to attack from.

'I'll block this hit from above, and then stab him right through the stomach. This man is quite resilient, so I'll just have to poke a whole bunch of holes through him and make sure he can't get up!' Mosak thought.

He held the spear firmly above his head, and the sword struck against it. It felt no different from the attacks before; the translucent blade didn't go through his spear, nor did the Qi feel any stronger.

Yet, for the first time in the fight, when blocking the attack, Mosak felt striking pain in several different parts of his body. The sides of his arms were cut, and he continued to be cut all the way up to his shoulder.

'What is happening!'

Mosak was too distracted but could see Raze swinging his sword again from the side. As the sword moved, an afterimage of the sword being left behind could be seen. It was hard for Mosak to focus, and that's when he blocked the hit from the side, and great pain was felt up his arms.

They were being cut from all over, and blood was falling from his hands.

Raze didn't stop as he continued with the momentum swinging his blade, and only then was Mosak noticing what was happening.

Spectral images were appearing with each strike, almost multiplying the blade and the angles from where it was attacking. The movement of the sword was swift, and it had a multi-strike capability regardless of the sword only hitting one area.

It allowed the person to attack from various angles simultaneously. It was as if the sword was always moving through Qi, allowing it to strike from different areas. This was the Phantom Edge Formation.

The main issue of such a move was the large amount of Qi it would use. However, although Raze didn't know how to activate the properties of Demonic Qi, he had unknowingly been unlocking it when using the Dark Edge Sword Arts, and it was the same case now.

As long as he continued to land hits and hurt Mosak, his Qi would be restored, allowing him to keep up the Phantom Edge Formation.

Sliding back, it was the first time Mosak had clearly backed away from an attack. As he leapt back, he spun his spear in a circle formation, firing out constantly another round of Qi blasts.

Raze, with a single swing, was able to take out many, but multiple were coming out at the same time. Eventually, Raze realized he couldn't get close to Mosak like this, and he was using a lot of Qi, so he stopped using the Phantom Edge Formation and moved to the side.

"Haha, I can't believe I didn't notice it until now," Mosak said. "I guess I was slightly tricked because you were using a sword instead, but all of the techniques there are so similar to what he used to use, and the name you mentioned before, Belil?"

"Are you the Abyssal Demon's Disciple?" Mosak asked.
