Death... and me

Chapter 3601: You Know What To Do

Chapter 3601: You Know What To Do

Those who remained looked in the twins’ group direction, including those inside the same Globe. "Do you know that guy?"

Rean shook his head. "This is the first time we met. Did you not see it? His chest has pink light, and ours has green. How could we have met since we are from different Universes?"

As much as the guys around had their doubts, Rean’s words made sense. Not to mention, Rean and Roan were nothing but Elemental Space Realm experts, so it would make even less sense for the Demon Fish called Hian to have had any relations with the twins in the past.

"That matters not right now," Grititi was fuming on the other Globe. He brought an artifact that should have guaranteed his first position in this region’s score, and yet he only managed third. The fact the twins’ Globe got second meant little to him now since he was left behind, just like them. "We need to find a way to survive this!"

*Crack...*

Suddenly, the three Self-Defense Globes that stayed behind began to crack. Each with their 30 experts inside, they all looked as the cracks spread over the Globes’ Shells like a spiderweb.

*Plang!*

Finally, the Globes crumbled, causing the Invisible Barriers that kept everyone locked inside to disappear. Right now, the various experts from the various groups could do whatever they wanted.

*Rumble...*

Barely a few seconds passed, and everyone saw how the dome that kept the Red Smoke out also began to disappear slowly. It wasn’t instantaneous, but the Red Smoke began to enter the area, approaching the experts there.

They made everyone’s expressions darken. The Globe’s Defense was already effacted like that before. If they try to fly through that Red Smoke, they would definitely die in a matter of seconds. Maybe the strongest ones in their midst might be able to resist for a minute or so, which was definitely not enough to escape this place.

Last but not least, even if they somehow managed to run all the way back to the Molten Ocean, then what? The twins’ group had Kentucky, and using all his strength and energy, Kentucky might be able to fly above the ocean for a little while. Yet, the twins’ group spent four months traversing that Molten Ocean. Kentucky, on the other hand, wouldn’t be able to keep his flight for more than an hour, and that’s with Celis, Rean, and Roan’s help. Why? Because gravity was still just like it had always been since they entered the Golden Palace, that’s why.

"That portal is still open, though..." Someone commented.

Sure enough, they all looked up, and several hundred meters above the ground, the portal could still be seen. Why was it still open?

It was then that it dawned on them. They remember what the message said: -As for the other three who remain, well, bad luck.-

Yes, it referred to the three Globes and the experts who remained behind inside them, and it had never said that they would be left to die nor that death was guaranteed.

"That must be it!" Someone commented. "We have to make our way to the portal and try to cross it!"

"But, didn’t you see what the three Globes that entered the portal did?" Meconth warned everyone. "They sucked all the energy that all Globes had accumulated so far, and only then did they enter the portal above. Chances are that those Globes were still necessary to protect them against something. What about our Self-Defense Globes? They are gone! Broken as they could be!"

"So what?!" Fetesgau rebuked Meconth. "Are you saying that we should stay here? It’s guaranteed death if we stay or a possibly guaranteed death if we cross the portal. If you want to stay, be my guest!"

Grititi and another two of his Camazotz Bats nodded at each other. His Camazotz Bat group had eight members, but only three of them seemed to know what to do. The others only waited for Grititi to say how he intended to proceed. "Everyone from the Green Universe, gather over here! We need to try something, quick!"

Adding all three Globes, including the twins’ one, there were a total of 21 experts from Universe F956. The other experts were from other Universes.

Rifindio, Elsie, and Royer looked at the twins’ group. How could they not guess what the Camazotz Bats are about to try?

The other experts from other Universes also gathered with their own Universe members, even if they weren’t exactly friends or anything. Some had more, others less, but that’s about it.

Then, a few Demon Birds, three in total, changed into their real forms. There were also two Spirits that seemed to have a natural ability to fly, just like birds. Normal flight was still possible if you had enough power to flap your wings against gravity.

Yet, the twins’ group ignored all of that, and they didn’t join the Camazotz Bats either. "Let’s try to fly into the portal. Kentucky, you can at least carry us into that portal, can’t you?"

"Obviously!" Kentucky nodded. "As long as that portal doesn’t have more of those gravity traps that increase many times more than it already is when you get close." Kentucky met two of these gravity traps. One was in the explosion lake, and the other was in the hole where Elsie’s Master was found. They existed to prevent anyone from trying to fly past the obstacles.

"Hey, you!" Grititi shouted at them. "I said to come here! We are planning to enter that portal, and everyone is necessary to help defend against whatever is inside!"

Royer, still acting as the ’group leader,’ refused outright. "No need. We will try on our own. You guys can go ahead and try it. You, Camazotz Bats, especially, should do relatively well since you can fly in your original forms anyway." And so, Royer and the rest of their group looked away, ignoring the Camazotz Bats and the other experts from their Universe.

*Flap, flap, flap...*

Not far from them, a Demon Bird took flight, using all the Divine Energy of its Core and the Divine Energy that was being channeled into it just to fight gravity.

Soon, the other two followed suit, and slowly, those groups rose from the floor. They might not be like Kentucky, who could stay in the air for around an hour if necessary. But if it is just a few hundred meters above, it wouldn’t be an issue.

Grititi saw that, narrowing his eyes. His eyes went back to the wins group right after. Then, he looked at his other two companions. "You know what to do."
