Death... and me

Chapter 3602: Are You Willing?

Chapter 3602: Are You Willing?

Surprisingly, or maybe not, those with Green Light were the last ones on the ground. On the sides, the Red Smoke approached, and it wouldn’t take more than a few minutes to reach the center.

"Just keep watching," Roan spoke, "Perhaps there is some trap at the entrance of the portal. If nothing happens, we will enter as well. Get ready, Kentucky."

Kentucky changed back into his Original Form, nodding at Roan. "Anytime!"

It was then that Grititi came to their group, asking. "This is the last time. Are you not joining all of us before entering the portal?"

Royer looked at him, shaking his head. "We won’t. I’m the one responsible for these youngsters, and I will take care of them myself. Instead, you should focus on the guys approaching the portal instead of insisting on us. If there is a trap or something off, you can get yourself and your group prepared." Royer’s head turned in the portal’s direction once again after saying that.

However, at that moment, Grititi spoke to his other two companions through Divine Sense. ’Now!’

There was a reason for Grititi to approach the twins’ group. The Camazotz Bats’ ability to rob everyone of their energies and blood worked best if they were close to their targets. Because the twins’ group refused to gather together with the rest, Grititi saw himself forced to come near them. Grititi used the excuse to ask them to join his group to do so.

Immediately, everyone with a green light on their chests felt their bodies boiling. The energy inside their bodies swelled, and before they could do anything, all their bodies exploded into a mist of blood and Divine Energy. That also included five Camazotz Bats that were unaware of what was happening.

All the energy then rushed into Grititi and his two Camazotz Bats companions. That was their plan all along, use the other experts’ blood and energy to increase their power as much as possible. They, too, believed that whatever awaited them on the other side of the portal was bound to be extremely dangerous.

Grititi’s face showed exhilaration. Another reason for him to wait for the other groups to fly to the portal first wasn’t just to check if there were any traps at the portal. There was also the part where the Camazotz bats would be temporarily unable to do much while they focused entirely on absorbing all the blood and Divine Energy.

*Phew...*

Grititi let out a satisfied breath and was just about to open his eyes again when suddenly.

*Puft!*

An energy needle pierced his skull, hitting his Demon Core that existed there inside his brain. Immediately, his entire cultivation was sealed, jolting him awake from that short trance.

*ARGH!*

He opened his eyes wide and saw Roan with a finger touching his forehead, a cold, faint smile on his face. "Y-You!"

However, that wasn’t time to check was was happening. His cultivation was sealed, and he couldn’t move his body. "Gardil, Ranwece, what are you doing?! Help me!"

"Oh, are you talking about these two?" Rean and Rifindio came back carrying two severed heads. Sure enough, those were the other two Camazotz Bats that worked in tandem with Grititi, the so-called Gardil and Ranwece.

"Impossible!" Grititi exclaimed. He then tried to force himself free from Roan’s grasp but was immediately assaulted by a huge pain in his soul!

*Arrrrghhhh!!!*

Only then did he understand. He was truly, completely under the twins’ group’s control. There was nothing he could do at that moment!

"This ability of your Camazotz Bats’ race is truly good, but this fatal flaw is kinda ridiculous," Royer approached with his hand behind his back. "You can make anyone born in the F956 Universe explode and suck all their blood and energy. Yet, for a short moment, you are defenseless. No, that’s not entirely correct."

"If you forced yourself to stay awake, you could. It’s just that it would cause you to lose a lot of the blood and energy of the experts that you killed, so it wasn’t worth it. Above all, you Camazotz Bats only do this when you are absolutely sure there will be no retaliation to guarantee you can gain as much power as possible."

"How can you be fine?!" Grititi asked, shocked that Royer knew so much. Well, most of what Royer said it was Rean who told him. "Wait! You are not from the F956 Universe, are you?! You are an intruder!"

"Me? Not at all!" Royer continued. "I’m born there, and so is everyone here. It’s just that we already knew about your Camazotz Bats’ little trick, and we were prepared for it. Just so you know, even though we could prevent our bodies from exploding, it still hurt quite a bit when you activated that ability of yours."

A mix of lies and truths. But that didn’t matter. Royer’s intention lay elsewhere. "Now, it is still true that we are affected by this timebomb the Camazotz Bats created. We can only defend ourselves against it if we know it is coming, and that is not good enough. So, how about this? You tell us what it is and how to get rid of it, and perhaps we can let you live."

"Hahaha!" Grititi laughed, even though his situation was dire. He could feel it. Celis had a hand on his shoulder, and all his Divine Energy was being sucked by him. He was pretty much dry already. Yet, he didn’t care. "I’m already dead since I broke the main rule. I can never let anyone live once I use this special ability. Since you are alive, then that means I failed, and I will die."

"Oh, but you won’t!" Royer shook his head. "We already took care of the seal in your soul. Well, the external one, that is. We can’t read your memories, but we can at least prevent the seal from exploding in your head."

It wasn’t a lie. That energy needle Roan used wasn’t targeting Grititi’s Core only. It was also targeting that seal. He was using both his Dark Element and Rean’s Light Element to nullify it. It would immediately explode if Roan tried to read Grititi’s sealed memories, though. That’s because he could see a difference. There was an external seal, which exploded in case the secret was revealed, and an internal one that Roan couldn’t reach, which exploded once he tried to access Grititi’s memories. Whoever created it was very careful to not leave any flaws behind.

Grititi was taken aback. However, he was still alive, and that was confirmation that Royer wasn’t lying. His head should have exploded by now, and even his soul shouldn’t have remained. "How are you even doing this? This seal was created by the Universe Owner herself!"

"That matters not," Royer pointed into the distance. The Red Smoke was quickly approaching. "What matters now is to hear from you more about it. So, are you willing to cooperate?"
