Chapter 3605: Secret Meeting
Somewhere else, in what you would call the seventh region, an empty room had a weird small altar in its center. Around it were eight similar altars, but each one with one different item projection. If one looked closely, one would see that each of these projections had the same image as the medallions that the experts carried.
For example, the twins and Elsie’s medallion was one with a picture of a Stone, and one of the altars had a projection of a Stone as well. The other seven had a Fruit, an Oil Drop, a Rune, a Gear, a Star, a Forge, and a Flower.
*Bzzft!*
Suddenly, the altar with a Stone image seemed to activate. Spatial powers gathered around it, and a portal was opened right above. A woman came out of it, landing by the Altar’s side. "Hum? Am I the first one?"
She pondered a bit and then pointed a finger at the Altar with a Flower Projection. A shot of concentrated Divine Energy came out.
*Puft!*
However, that shot didn’t move for more than a meter before it was extinguished without a trace. An indigo light came out of the altar at the center and seemed to have been the reason for the woman’s attack to fail.
"Tch..." She clicked her tongue but didn’t try anything anymore.
In the following minutes, the other altars began to activate as well. The first one was the Flower Altar, from which a man with wolf features over his body came out. The other altars followed suit, portals appearing one after another. Finally, each one of the eight altars had someone standing by their side.
"This remnant of Divine Energy. Little bat, you tried that again, didn’t you?" The wolfman looked at the woman, a playful expression all over his face.
The woman shrugged, smiling as well. "I don’t know what you are talking about."
"Let’s not waste time with meaningless interactions," another man spoke. This one looked like a minotaur, although quite small and with a weird Pink Color. "Have you all selected someone?"
The others nodded, and in the next moment, images of different experts appeared above the item projections. One would immediately recognize one of such experts on the image above the stone altar. It was none other than Rifindio. It’s just that it was an old image of him just outside the Golden Palace. All the images were from the same time. It seemed like none of them could check upon their chosen experts in this place.
Rifindio would be quite shocked if he was here right now. Not because his image was on the altar but because the woman who presented his image was none other than the elder he knew from the past, Rafa!
Well... that was the name she gave him.
"Good. Let’s call Master," the Pink Minotaur spoke.
They all turned to the altar at the center of the room, and they channeled their energies and laws... actually, Celestial Laws, into it.
The Central Altar’s Indigo Light shone even brighter. It didn’t take long for everyone in that room to feel an overwhelming presence to appear. Each of them was in the Celestial Realm, and yet, in front of that power, they felt like nothing more than ants.
A Golden Power then came out of the central altar, replacing the indigo color. It gathered above, soon taking the form of a face. It was quite unexpected, as the face being shown looked to be of a five-year-old kid at most. Nonetheless, he was definitely the owner of that power that put all the Celestial Realm Experts down to their knees.
"Long time no see, Master," the entire group spoke at the same time.
The kid’s eyes opened, and then nodded at them. "How long has it been since I got all eight of you to open my little side hut at the same time?"
"Answering to master," a female demon beast with fiery feathers, someone known as Rihana, spoke, "it has been 3.7 million years."
"Just 3.7?" The kid seemed surprised. "I guess I’ve been a little too hasty. Oh well, I was also a little bored. Anyway, I see you have already selected your candidates. Do you think they can take up the mantle?"
Everyone nodded. They seemed very confident in those they selected.
"Very well," the Kid continued. "As per the rules, you must not have helped them from the moment they were born. Making things harsh for them was okay, but definitely not making things easy. Do not try to trick me. You know what happened to your brother all those years ago for trying to hide the fact he did intervene in his candidate’s development directly."
"We wouldn’t dare," everyone answered.
"Good." The golden light of his altar spread and then entered countless runes in that room. For a moment, the entire room turned golden, just for it to return to normal a few seconds later.
"Hum?" The kid then looked in Rifindio’s image direction. "Elemental Space Realm. Triaglia, are you kidding me? He can’t even use laws yet."
"Absolutely not, master," Triaglia shook her head. "Master will see that he will live up to your expectations. His destiny is quite an interesting one, and he seems to have acquired some very good and trustworthy allies. As per the rules, there is nothing wrong if the candidates managed to acquire some extra helpers, as long as they don’t know about anything."
The kid narrowed his eyes for a moment and connected to the Golden Palace once again. Another few seconds passed, and his attention returned to Triaglia. "Now, those are some interesting allies. However, should know the problem they could cause due to their origins."
"I’m aware," the woman nodded.
"Good!" The kid was happy. "I like a bold approach, so this is all up to you. I won’t comment about this to the idiots back home."
"Thank you, master," the woman sighed in relief.
Then, the kid looked at the other beings in that room. "As for the rest of you, each of your candidates seems just as promising, if not more, especially Fliun’s choice. Remember, they all can do it, but the order will proportionate a better outcome for the first ones to succeed. I’m looking forward to their results."
"Yes, master!"
And so, the golden kid’s face disappeared, making the room silent.
The wolfman was the first one to break the silence. "Triaglia, what was it Master was talking about?"
Triaglia ignored the wolfman, looking at Rifindio’s image above her altar and thinking. ’I did what I could. The rest is up to you.’
