Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System
Chapter 2076 - 2076: The Yokai Curse—–
“So this is the purpose of that Curse, huh? Despicable…”
Before Drake was the body of one of those Yokai, which he had suppressed with his Aura, seemingly dead.
Its spectral darkness body dissipated to reveal the “core”, the body of a person covered with black and red tattoos.
The person inside was somewhat alive, or not, in a strange, undead-like state, but with vital signs.
“W-What is that? A merman? That’s a citizen!” Rose said. “W-What’s going on?! What are those things even?”
“They’re people that had that curse’s state advanced all over their bodies…” Drake responded, as his daughter Benladra walked towards the person on the floor. “Benladra, can you heal him?”
“The curse has advanced so far it feels like it has been mixed into their flesh and blood…” Benladra muttered. “It almost feels like they’ve been mutated completely, whenever this person regains consciousness, they’ll turn again into… whatever that is.”
Drake’s eyes shone brightly, as Belle was summoned by his side.
“Belle…”
“I… recognize those beasts.”
Belle looked at the monsters roaring furiously beyond Drake’s Presence, his Aura itself shaping into an invisible barrier they simply couldn’t get through.
This was the level of power Drake had achieved now, he didn’t even need to use Magic, or any Spell, Divine Ability, or Skill.
This was merely his Presence.
“When mother was in Zipangu, she was a Shrine Maiden of a small island country,” explained Belle. “She actively fought against these monsters, they’re aberrations born from the darkness of people’s hearts, originating from… from… uh, I don’t remember, but some sort of evil goddess.”
“…” Drake remained in silence. “Zipangu is just a whole other deal altogether, huh? A world isolated so long from Yggdrasil; it has its own set of annoying problems. Well, good thing I’m strong enough now. Let’s solve this quickly. Kids, you don’t have to worry. I’m here.”
With a confident smile, Drake waved his claws, waves of silver light encompassed all Yokai, their monstrous forms dissipating instantly as dozens of people laid on the floor, mostly all naked, covered with red and black tattoos.
“Incredible, you can suppress them without killing them?” wondered Coral.
“Yeah, it’s no easy feat, I have to make sure my attack is really gentle,” Drake said. “I’ve grown so strong I’m kind of afraid of hurting others without realizing it. Now, Benladra, let’s cure them.”
“I don’t know if I can do it father, this curse is as if it has become part of what they are, to cure them we would have to completely restructure their entire bodies…” Benladra said. “And that could kill them!”
“…” Drake rubbed his chin for a moment. “If I strengthen your power enough, it should still work, right?”
“W-What?” Benladra was confused. “Dad, what do you mean?”
“If they die, they die, we’ll revive them a split second later,” smiled Drake. “I can keep their souls from disappearing. Cleanse the curse and the darkness. Your father got this, my dear.”
“F-Father…” Benladra’s eyes widened, as she saw her father’s confident smile. “Okay!”
She didn’t even hesitate to trust him, he was her father after all! if she didn’t trust him, who else could she ever trust?
Father and daughter unified their Auras, as Benladra unleashed a bright ray of purifying light.
“{Heavenly Curse-Dispelling Light}!”
FLAAASH!
With the power of Starry, Benladra’s contracted Living Domain Spirit, which merged with her powers and aura, the light purified the people.
It was so intense and painful they started burning in agony as they screamed, Coral, Rose, and Eleanor panicked.
“Uuuaaaggh!”
“Gaaaahhhhh!”
“Hyaaaahhh!”
As they cried in agony, the people died one after another, and their souls emerged, dark as the night, but the light cleansed them as well, and then Drake used his powers to forcefully put them back where they came from.
And then, after five minutes or arduous work…
“I-It worked!” Benladra celebrated. “Daddy, we did it!”
She hugged her father happily, kissing him all over his face as Drake lifted her up and laughed.
“Well done, my dear! See? Our father and daughter duo is unstopable!”
“Yeah!”
The people laid over the floor, unconscious, but healthy, the warmth in their bodies was also coming back to them, and some even started to sleepily open their eyes.
“A-Are you alright?” Rose asked one of the people that woke up, a young mermaid woman.
“I-I… Is that you, Princess Rose? Ugh… I was… having such a bad nightmare, it felt like I had become a monster,” the woman muttered. “What… just what happened- Eh?! I’m naked!”
“Looks like they’re healthy!” Coral nodded. “But yeah they’re all naked… we need to get them some clothes, everyone! Can you please help us out bring them clothes?”
The people that had enjoyed the feast nodded, rapidly moving and bringing their own clothes to share with the victims, and also they shared the plentiful of food and drinks, these people must’ve been starving if they were monsters for like a week.
As Drake and his family saw the people recovering and eating his nutritious food, he sighed, feeling frustrated about what had been done for them.
“If it had been anybody but us, they would have simply slain them, imagine if this dangerous curse spread everywhere in this world, people would be forced to kill one another,” Drake groaned.
“It’s indeed a terrible curse…” Benladann sighed. “Was it spread by those Zipangu bastards?”
“Most likely by that Great General, or his aides, I remember he had some sort of Dark Sorceress by his side…” Coral commented. “They wield the power of a wicked goddess of death and destruction from their world… I think.”
“Hm, well, we’re done here,” Yuki said. “So we should quickly go clean this up, right?”
“Yeah,” Drake nodded. “Alright, Coral, Rose, Eleanor, my food must have brought you to full health by now, do you think you can fight?”
“We can!” they said in unison.
“Then we’re ending this today,” Drake nodded, summoning his divine weapons. “Let’s go.”
As Drake decided to move forward, his divine presence was finally released, as an immense pressure encompassed the whole island.
Even the Great General behind this invasion could feel it within every inch of his body, his power…
“Hoh? To think there’s a monster of this caliber here… I might finally have a proper duel.”
Wielding his samurai helmet, the mighty Great General stood up, five black spears floating around his body.
“Shall we begin?”
