Long Chen’s arrogance knew no bounds. Calling the experts of the four divine clans “a bunch of ugly melons and cracked dates” was a blatant insult, and his tone made it clear that he didn’t regard any of them as a threat.

The Long clan’s experts were seething with fury. For them, Long Chen was a wanted criminal who needed to be eliminated. With so many powerful figures from the Long clan gathered—including fearsome warriors like Long Zaiye and Long Zimo—Long Chen’s insult seemed like a death wish.

Even the Zhao and Ye clans experts were furious, looking like they would tear him apart with their teeth. On the other hand, not all of the Jiang clan experts took Long Chen’s words seriously.

After all, Feng Fei had explained Long Chen’s troubled history with the four divine clans to the Jiang clan. Her intention had been twofold: to elevate Long Chen’s status in the Jiang clan’s eyes and prevent them from provoking him. She emphasized that Long Chen’s conflicts with the clans had been forced upon him. Long Chen had never had any choice in that matter. Hence, there was no need for the Jiang clan to get involved in the Long clan’s conflicts.

Most importantly, with her presence in the Jiang clan, Long Chen’s relationship with them couldn’t be considered hostile. She hoped that the Jiang clan would at least maintain a peaceful coexistence with him.

When Feng Fei told them about Long Chen, the Jiang clan’s higher-ups mostly treated it indifferently, considering it an insignificant matter. They dismissed it as a trivial concern. As long as Long Chen didn’t provoke the Jiang clan, they had no intention of targeting him.

Unfortunately, not every higher-up kept their mouth shut. News of Long Chen’s history soon spread to the other three divine clans.

When they learned that Long Chen had once crushed their heavenly geniuses and trampled them beneath his feet, even if it had occurred in a lower world, they couldn’t tolerate the humiliation. The Long clan, in particular, was enraged. When they learned that Long Chen had destroyed branches of the Long clan, they concluded that he needed to die.

Now that Long Chen had appeared, the other three divine clans showed their hostility. The Long clan’s disciples clenched their teeth in fury.

“Youngsters shouldn’t be so arrogant. Don’t you know that trouble mostly comes from the mouth?” remarked a bearded, middle-aged man with a sword strapped to his back.

This middle-aged man was one of the Long clan’s peak experts of the junior generation, Long Zimo. He was famous in the Long clan, but he was still lacking compared to his big brother, Long Ziwei.

Long Ziwei had been a prodigy who swept through his enemies during the primal chaos era, and his reputation was comparable to the legendary Long Zaiye’s. Tragically, he perished in the primal chaos war.

The Long Ziwei whom Long Chen had encountered was actually named after Long Zimo’s older brother. The former’s parents had hoped to pass on the name of this peerless genius, just as the name “Long Zaiye” was repeated within the clan.

Long Ziwei had risen like a shooting star in his youth, making a name for himself early on. Long Zimo, on the other hand, was a late bloomer. His cultivation progressed at a slower pace, and for years, he remained a nameless figure within the clan.

It took him three thousand years to advance to the Eternal realm. However, once he reached this stage, his terrifying potential started to surface. Originally regarded as trash by the Long clan, Long Zimo revealed himself to be a genius who required time to mature. Upon advancing to the Heaven Saint realm, his power began to rival that of his legendary brother.

But before Long Zimo could fully showcase his abilities, the nine heavens and ten lands changed, and the higher-ups directly sealed him.

Long Zimo was powerful. In the past, he had battled Long Zaiye three times. Although he had lost every bout, he was the only person capable of exchanging over a thousand blows with the famed genius.

Among the Long clan’s talents, Long Tianrui had never faced Long Zaiye directly. Despite several challenges, Long Zaiye consistently declined, insisting she first defeated Long Zimo.

Long Tianrui and Long Zimo had already clashed three times, resulting in two losses and one win for Tianrui. Their skills were closely matched, making them fierce rivals.

However, before their rivalry could progress further, the opening of the Heaven Vein Mystic Realm forced an end to their sparring. They were required to preserve their peak condition for this critical event.

Being older, Long Zimo was usually more composed and measured. But even he couldn’t suppress his irritation at Long Chen’s bold provocations.

“Youngsters shouldn’t be so arrogant? If a youngster isn’t arrogant, would they still be called a youngster? Oh, senior, you’re indeed very mature,” Long Chen quipped, finally turning his gaze toward Long Zimo.

The sarcasm was razor-sharp, and it hit where it hurt the most. For Long Zimo, being called “senior” felt like a curse.

After all, there was no way he could cover up his aged appearance. Although he was shockingly powerful, countless young experts still looked at him oddly and talked about him behind his back, insinuating that his strength was primarily due to his older age.

Long Zimo’s expression darkened instantly, and his killing intent surged as his hand moved to grasp the hilt of his sword.

Seeing this, Long Tianrui almost burst out laughing. Long Zimo was known for his reserved and steady nature, yet Long Chen had managed to shake him with just a few words. Long Chen’s ability to anger people was indeed number one beneath the heavens.

Ignoring Long Zimo’s seething rage, Long Chen turned his attention to Long Zaiye, studying him momentarily before looking at Long Tianrui.

“This one’s a bit stronger,” Long Chen remarked casually, “but his looks… You can’t pick him. Otherwise, your children might end up looking like apes.”

The unexpected jab caught everyone off guard. Feng Fei, Jiang Yue’e, and even Long Tianrui couldn’t suppress their laughter. Although they covered their mouths, the sound was still audible.

This tense atmosphere instantly became odd thanks to Long Chen’s “warning”. The more people looked at Long Zaiye, the more he resembled Long Chen’s description.

Holding back her laughter, Long Tianrui replied, “Since you refuse to have children with me, I have no choice. I must find a powerful expert to continue my bloodline.”

“Well there’s no need to defile yourself, is there? It would be a waste to put a beautiful flower on a turd. Just wait a bit longer, and you might encounter someone better,” urged Long Chen.

Although Long Chen didn’t like Long Tianrui, he couldn’t stomach the idea of such a striking beauty ending up with someone like Long Zaiye. The thought gave him goosebumps.

“Foolish fellow,” Long Zaiye finally spoke, his tone icy but controlled. “Did you think you could anger me with childish insults?”

His gaze locked onto Long Chen, devoid of emotion but radiating intensity. He then asked, “Tell me, are you a nine star heir?”
