The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1530 - 1530: Unexpected Cycle

“Who was the woman who attacked us and killed Dame Crimoria?”

Finally, the question that has been occupying her mind throughout the years slipped out.

She wanted to know, to ask Rex that question, but there had never been the right time.

Even though 99,99% of the time inside the tower was allocated to training, there were times when April saw Rex heading downstairs sneakily, and sat on the staircase to be alone, even if it’s only for a moment.

He might not show it, but he was hurting inside.

Clearly, the incident affected him.

He was only keeping a strong appearance for the outside world, but was crumbling inside.

April remembered what Great Elder Rosa always told her.

‘To really know someone, look into their eyes.’

Most of the time, regardless of the composed look Rex put on for her—or himself, she could see deep exhaustion in his eyes. And sometimes—there was sadness and worry. April could see them clearly since the eyes couldn’t lie, he was never happy or relaxed.

Rex was caught off guard by the question.

But he recovered quickly.

He knew April had something to say to him, and this was it.

How come a noble lady like her doesn’t know about the Scions? Are they keeping existence a secret? Or were they hiding behind a mask and blending with the normal people?

If that’s the case, Viora was really lucky to hear about them.

Rex paused for a second, contemplating his answer inside first before he finally sighed, “I will not tell you the details. It’s dangerous,” He started. Now knowing the Scions are secretive, he couldn’t risk telling April blatantly. “But I will say she’s a part of a very dangerous group—who have the chance to reach the very top. I’m a part of that group.”

“And what does she want from you?” April asked curiously. “She did nothing but taunt you.”

It has been two years.

Rex has never talked with her at length, so this was a rare occurrence.

She couldn’t let this conversation go.

Even though she was angry at those who left the tower, she must admit it—this was hard.

Being forced to train in solitude, abandoning her normal activities, it’s really hard.

And she craved a social conversation lest she go insane.

“I don’t know,” Rex shook his head, recalling the day of the incident, which was still fresh in his mind despite the blur of training. “I did not even know there were other entities besides me who had the same circumstances as me. But… if I have to guess, maybe she’s trying to warn me.”

“Warn you?” April was perplexed. “By killing Dame Crimoria and almost doing it to Linthia?”

“I knew it was hard to believe, but she’s a lot older than me, and she has the power to kill me without even giving me a chance,” Rex answered truthfully. If Kei Xun wanted to, she did not need to make an entrance and kill him instantly. “But she didn’t try to kill me, so she must be warning me of this… path.”

April hugged her knees and lay her head on them, fixing her eyes on Rex.

“And are you going to heed this warning?” She asked.

Rex paused again at that question.

For some reason, April was asking all the right questions that he didn’t want to think about.

Much less say it out loud.

But he must be sure about his path, or else he’s destined to fail.

“I have no other choice but to continue,” Rex placed his hands behind him—and leaned back, looking up at the ceiling in thought. “You might already be suspicious of me after hearing the thing I said to Viora on the rooftop, but I’m from the Mortal Realm, and I’m an Emperor there.”

“Emperor?” April’s expression twitched slightly, but she tried to calm herself.

Rex could see it, though, her eyes suddenly became more tender.

Then, she oddly repeated, this time softer, “Emperor…”

She reacted, but she wasn’t surprised, or at least she didn’t look surprised.

“You’re not surprised?” Rex asked incredulously.

“Rex,” April chuckled lightly, a sweet one, devoid of her usual strictness. “You’re an Immortal Spirit rank, who could go toe-to-toe with a Master Immortal Spirit-rank Voidal Knight armed with an established Echo. You also have three Soul Artifacts, all of which are extremely high grade. And your talent matches that of the all-time geniuses in the empire. I can safely say, you’re not from around here.”

“If you are, then you must be either a God-send or a Voidal Monarch in the flesh.” She added

“I see…” Rex chuckled, almost laughing.

A relaxed one, not the usual chuckle he usually did.

April paused for a second, her eyelids dropped a bit, giving her a slow-burning, velvety look.

Now that she wasn’t wearing her helmet, Rex could see all the details of her face.

Underneath, she was an elegant blonde woman with sharp features.

Contrary to what Rex had in mind, expecting a rough-looking woman due to how strict—and uptight she was sometimes, she was a beautiful young maiden. Her blond hair was tied into a noble bun, her plump lips were naturally red, and despite her sharp features, her really bright hazel eyes were low and tender.

Most of the time, because of her droopy eyes, she looked like she was bored.

Also, he could tell that other people would find her intimidating.

He couldn’t see any resemblance to Rosa on her.

And her face would be perfect had it not been for a small scar on the side of her lower lip.

She possessed a face that was able to get him into trouble with the others.

Fortunately, the others weren’t here.

“You should smile more,” She suddenly said. “You look really good when you smile…”

Rex choked when he heard this, not expecting the sudden compliment.

He remained silent a little bit more—thinking that April might’ve unconsciously spoken what’s on her mind, and would soon realize it and get embarrassed. But she didn’t. She kept her eye contact strong, even ignoring the few strands of hair that dropped down to her face.

Clearing his throat, Rex averted his gaze.

“A-Anyway,” He continued, attempting to disperse the charged air—between them. “I can’t stop since I have people—that I needed to protect. Frankly speaking, I’m here in this realm only to retrieve some things. Once I got it, I’d go back.”

“Lucky people,” April muttered. “I’m sure they felt safe with you around. You even fended off that woman for Linthia, so you must be doing good by them, too. If it were me, I’d be grateful to have someone like you protecting me.”

Upon saying that, April smiled, showing rows of white teeth, and then bit her lower lip.

Her smile was charming, almost… seductive even.

Hold on, what’s going on?

Rex pulled back a little, sensing the sensual heat coming from her like a tidal wave.

It was like a warm breeze blowing against his skin.

Just then, with slow, deliberate fingers, April unbuckled her chausses, revealing the smooth curve of her bare legs—yet her gaze never left Rex’s, intense and unwavering, as if she was daring him to misunderstand her. “I know you’re hurting—Rex. I have seen it multiple times,” She said softly. No matter what your goal is, to become stronger, or whatever—you cannot keep burying everything you feel.”

“Maybe you have someone back home, but do you have someone here?” She continued.

At her last words, the chausses were off completely with a plucking, leathery sound.

Now, April’s legs were completely bear, leaving only her lacewear.

Rex couldn’t help but look, his eyes trailing to her perfect, soft skin, well taken care of—as a lady from a noble house. Her thighs were full but looked plump, obviously sculpted from her dedication to becoming a proper, strong lady.

Both thighs parted slightly, almost like an invitation to enter.

For a moment, he couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like to go inside.

But he quickly snapped out of it, quickly averting his gaze.

Ekhmm… this is bad. Right, remember why you are here.

You are not here to play around.

Say it again, Rex. You are not here to play around.

Despite the chanting of a mantra in his mind, Rex couldn’t help but turn to look at her again.

He found her biting her index finger with a smile as she leaned against the wall.

But time here flowed differently… If it’s only one night, maybe I could… Stop!

Blinking his eyes rapidly, he bit down on his teeth to hold back the lust building inside.

His eyes were flickering to a blue color, the long-lost Alpha color that had never made an appearance for quite some time. Mainly due to the fact that he was stressed, but now, it wasn’t as much.

Rex checked his stats and saw his sanity stat and berserk stat.

Both were at a healthy 80% and 21%, respectively.

Both were at the safest numbers for a long time.

However, this was still weird—April wasn’t the type of woman who’d do something like this.

If anything, she would ask him straight up if he wanted to be intimate for one night or not.

But this…? This is seduction.

Maybe Rex didn’t know her well since their years spent together were only within this tower.

Still, though, this was unexpected.

Just as he snapped out of his trance, his eyes widened when he realized April was already standing before him. Her droopy, half-lidded gaze—was still locked onto his, as if breaking their eye contact was a crime.

Slowly, she sank into a squat right in front of him.

Positioning herself just above his thighs, close enough to steal his breath.

Is she possessed? A Voidal Monster got to her? The Singing Lady? But she looked normal.

Nothing is different about her, only the way she’s acting!

Rex was desperately trying to search for clues that she wasn’t being herself.

But there weren’t any.

She wasn’t influenced by anything.

April leaned closer, now her eyes dropped down to his lips, “Even an Emperor still needs an outlet…” She said whisperingly, chuckling as she tapped Rex’s lips. “I can be it in this realm, you don’t have to hold back.”

Oh, no… I was wrong to tell her that.

Rex realized what had happened.

In the Mortal Realm, throughout the history of humanity—the daughters of a royal house had always been used as a tool for power. Maybe in his world, that wasn’t the case anymore, but there are still traditions like this.

Even some of the 25 Golden Crest Families still do this.

Naturally, this tradition could still persist in the Spirit Realm.

As a noble lady, April must’ve been taught a lot of things, and this was one of them.

Upon mentioning that he was an Emperor, her demeanor instantly shifted.

It was the reason why she repeated that word earlier.

Now, he wasn’t a mentor anymore.

In her eyes, he could be a lot more than a mentor if he were really an Emperor.

Perhaps she hadn’t made a move until now because she wasn’t sure, but now, she was sure.

System, is there really nothing going on here? Scan her or something!

<Scanning…>

<Notice: April is currently on her menstrual cycle, during which her libido is greatly heightened!>

What? Are you serious?!

<Yes.>

Then why hasn’t she done anything until now? I’ve been with her for two years!

<Just like Humans, spirits also experienced a 28-day menstrual cycle. However, the time is nonlinear. 28 days for Humans is 280 days, within the Spirit Realm. A spirit’s cycle happens once or twice a year, and today is day 14 for April, the ovulation period.>

Ah… that actually made sense, but fuck, I need to get out of here until she calmed down!

Seeing that he was looking around for an exit, April roughly grabbed his face and forced him to look her in the eyes. She locked their eyes again, breathing with passion right in front of his face, forcing him to inhale her pheromones, “Aren’t you an Emperor? Stop acting shocked, you must have many concubines. What’s wrong with adding another?”

“Haha…” Rex laughed awkwardly. “It’s not really tha-“

“Shh…” April pressed her finger against his lip, and stared into his soul. “An Emperor has a lot of needs, so I’m going to help, okay?” She nodded a couple of times, gesturing for him to nod in understanding, too. “Okay?”

Just then, April noticed blood dripping down Rex’s nose.

“Oops~” She wiped the blood with her thumb and looked at it for a moment.

Then, she put her thumb inside her mouth, sucking on it.

Rex knew what this nosebleed meant.

Calidora, shit, she’s watching. I need to get out of here.

“On second thought, I’ll be eating with the others downstairs,” Rex placed her to the side and stood up abruptly. “I’ll see you later.”

Not even wasting a single precious second, he ran downstairs.

On the other hand, April sucked on the remaining blood on her thumb and smiled.

“I’m not going to let you off, Emperor Rex…” She muttered.
