THE LAST PARAGON IN THE APOCALYPSE

Chapter 712 - 712: Making of the Seven-Star Paragon Force (12)

“The humans are much more powerful than I initially thought. They have already cleared the first and second blockages, and from the look of things, they will be breaking the third,” Jinx said, and the queen narrowed her eyes.

“This is indeed troublesome. These seven are far from ready, so being attacked at this time is not good for us. Just who are these humans?” the Ant Queen asked.

“I don’t know much about them, but they have a beast on their side. Aside from that, there is one who has two Ant Queens as her slaves. I think they are after you too,” Jinx said, making the queen frown this time.

“A beast on their team and one who managed to enslave two Ant Queens? This doesn’t sound good. This person must be dealt with immediately,” the queen said, her body radiating powerful energy.

“I will take the Diamond Body Ants and go after them. With the force we have, though they are strong, they won’t be able to fight back.

Even if they do, the chances of them coming after you will be halted, for I will explode my core, killing all of us before that happens. This will buy you some time to think of something.”

Jinx said with determination, showing how much she wanted to protect her queen.

“I don’t think that is a wise decision, ladies.” Just as Jinx made her plan known, a foreign voice entered the space, causing the two to look in the direction of the voice.

There, Klaus could be seen closely examining one of the cocoons. Jinx retrieved her daggers and was about to attack when Klaus raised his finger, halting her.

“Killing me is pointless. This isn’t my real body, so listen to what I have to say first. Perhaps, after this discussion, you two will be gaining more than you can bargain for.”

Jinx stopped in her tracks when she heard what Klaus said. She turned and looked at her queen, who was also looking back at her.

“Who are you?” the queen asked.

“You can call me Klaus,” he said with a smile, walking to the side of the space and sitting down. “Now, why don’t you two ladies introduce yourselves so we can talk about what I came here for?”

The two ladies looked at him closely, and then Jinx spoke. “What do you want, and how did you get here?”

“I want to form an alliance with you two. As for how I got here, I followed you after you spied on my team.”

“Nonsense. Nobody followed me here. I made sure of that,” Jinx said, though even she didn’t sound convinced.

The fact that none of them had sensed Klaus’s presence was enough to tell her he wasn’t lying when he said he had followed her.

This made her raise her guard once again…

“What do you mean by forming an alliance with us?” the queen asked. Klaus, realizing she wouldn’t introduce herself, sighed and got down to business.

“I can tell these seven cocoons are for hybrid types of ants. They are your perfect creations, which means that aside from you two, these seven are the only beings you truly care for.

If you cared about the rest, you would have thought of them when Jinx reported to you just now.

However, instead of thinking about the thousands out there, you only thought of these seven. This means you don’t care about the bunch outside.

This also means you wouldn’t mind if we kill every last one of them, provided we don’t touch you.

So what if I say we can indeed do that? But in return, you will become a companion of one of my team members.

And before you think it’s enslaving you, know that it’s more like a mutually beneficial relationship.”

“I’m afraid I can’t do that. I won’t become someone’s weapon. I am my own living person and would not bow to anyone.” the queen said, making Klaus smile.

“You’re mistaking something here, ladies. This is good for you. I know Jinx has already reported on the beast lady fighting on my side.

She was once like you, but now, she has become a different life form. Also, before you assume this is slavery, know that we humans aren’t into slaves anymore.

Plus, I have a way to make you two evolve again and become over ten times stronger and better than you are now.

Also, if you accept, these seven can be turned into more powerful Ant hybrids than the ones you have in mind.”

This time, the queen and Jinx looked at each other and hesitated. The offer just now made sense, as it would guarantee their safety.

As Klaus said, she didn’t really care about the thousands of ants on the outside. Only Jinx came out perfect out of the thousands she had created, so she began creating new ones.

These new ones were the result of studying Jinx and incorporating new ideas to create the perfect soldiers. It had been her project for the past 23 years.

She started with 300 cocoons, but now only seven remain, demonstrating just how much time and effort she had invested in this project.

So, hearing there was a way to complete it and perhaps evolve into a better version of themselves was already enough to make them consider the offer.

“What is the guarantee that you would live up to your end of the bargain after using our forces as training dummies for your team?” Jinx asked.

“You just have to take my word for it. The fact that I entered this place without your notice shows I could have killed you and destroyed these seven cocoons without you having the ability to do anything about it.

Yet, I didn’t.

So relax. I’m not here to set any traps for you or your people. I just want to form this alliance. When everything is over, you will get what you want, and I will get what I want.

So, do we have a deal, or shall we go back to killing each other, which in this case will end badly for you?”
