On his way back, Lin Mu checked Karlia's body for injuries. While he had witnessed her ability to heal quickly during their fight, he still wasn't sure if it was an active or passive ability.
Demons were known for their superior healing and regeneration compared to most humans, but even they had limits. Severe injuries, if not treated properly, could leave lasting vulnerabilities.
"Hmm... Her meridians are strained, and a lot of her muscle fibers are torn as well," Lin Mu analyzed immediately, his gaze sharp and focused.
He was about to take out a healing pill to feed her when he hesitated.
"Wait... Do these even work with demon physiology?" Lin Mu wondered aloud. After a brief pause, he decided to try it anyway.
Although he possessed a large collection of alchemical pills capable of healing, they weren't universally effective for all beings. For instance, certain pills worked exclusively for humans, while others were effective for both humans and beasts but not for other races like Demons, Rock Giants, or elementals and more.
There was also the issue of compatibility between cultivation bases.
A pill formulated for an immortal cultivator could cause a spirit cultivator to explode due to differences in energy properties and potency. Likewise, those who practiced special techniques that fundamentally altered their physiques might react unpredictably to ordinary pills.
One notable example was cultivators using extreme Yin-elemental techniques, such as the Mei Clan. If they consumed typical healing pills—which were often Yang-oriented—they could suffer severe internal injuries unless they actively controlled the absorption process. Such cultivators often required specialized Yin-elemental healing pills, which could be toxic or even lethal to others.
Lin Mu watched intently as the medicinal energy of the pill entered Karlia's body, only to be swiftly overwhelmed and burned away by her Demonic Immortal Qi.The dark flames within her body, which he recognized as a common form of Demonic Fire, consumed the pill's efficacy within seconds.
"These pills won't work with Demonic Qi," Lin Mu muttered, observing the reaction closely.
"She's a Demon," Xukong's voice echoed in his mind. "Just infuse her with your Vitality and Immortal Essence. Demonic techniques are often adaptable to Immortal Essence, and her body should be resilient enough to handle it without issue."
"I'll give it a try," Lin Mu responded, placing his hand gently on Karlia's lower back.
He began channeling his Vitality and Immortal Essence into her body, starting with a cautious ratio of 9:1. Immortal Essence could be overwhelming for those without strong physical cultivation, so he preferred to proceed gradually.
SHUA
Within seconds, Karlia's body began absorbing the energy greedily, almost as if it were starved.
'It's working better than I expected,' Lin Mu thought, a hint of relief in his expression.
He continued the infusion for a minute before adjusting the ratio to 8:2, allowing a slightly greater proportion of Immortal Essence to flow into her.
If this had been the Lin Mu of the past, such a precise technique would have been impossible. However, his recent breakthrough with the Three Apertures Invoking Technique, reaching the First Stage of the Aperture Linking Realm, had significantly enhanced his control and versatility.
'No wonder the Three Apertures Invoking Technique has endured through the ages as one of the top body cultivation methods,' Lin Mu mused. 'Even if it doesn't directly enhance raw strength, the versatility it provides is unparalleled. And when paired with another complementary body cultivation technique, the benefits multiply exponentially.'
Lin Mu's use of Immortal Essence in this situation was extravagant, even by a body cultivator's standards. Most cultivators would hesitate to expend such valuable resources on another person. Only someone with vast reserves of Immortal Essence—like Lin Mu, thanks to the Three Apertures Invoking Technique—could afford such generosity.
For ten minutes, Lin Mu steadily channeled Vitality and Immortal Essence into Karlia's body. By the end of it, her torn muscle fibers and strained meridians had fully healed.
Her passive regeneration capabilities were impressive, even exceeding Lin Mu's normal healing rate. Only when he activated his Demon Form in conjunction with the Burning Heart Sutra could he hope to match or surpass it.
Satisfied with the results, Lin Mu picked up Karlia and resumed his journey back to the capital city.
Karlia remained unconscious, likely due to the sheer exhaustion from their intense battle. She would need more time to recover fully.
"Hmm... Where do I take her, though?" Lin Mu pondered aloud. "Did they get an assigned place to stay?"
Unable to answer the question himself, he decided to contact Ziran. However, his attempts were met with silence.
'Probably still busy playing with his kids,' Lin Mu guessed, a wry smile forming on his lips. Instead, he reached out to the Crown Prince for assistance.
"The Demons were assigned the Seventh Burdock Courtyard," the Crown Prince informed him, also providing the address.
Following the directions, Lin Mu flew to the location and found it situated in a quiet, remote area of the city. Nestled beside a forested region, the courtyard was simple yet functional.
The architectural style was sparse and practical, lacking the luxury often found in human residences. Lin Mu, however, recognized that this was likely intentional.
Demons generally preferred minimalistic accommodations, considering anything beyond the basics a luxury. Many were accustomed to living in tents made from beast leather, so even these modest courtyards would feel extravagant by their standards.
Gently, Lin Mu placed Karlia in one of the rooms within the courtyard. He ensured she was comfortable before stepping back to examine the surroundings.
"I suppose this will do for now," he muttered, glancing at her peaceful, resting form.
He took a moment to reflect on the events of the day, his mind lingering on the insights he had gained about Demonic techniques and Karlia's impressive resilience.
There was still the reward he was yet to get, but that could be obtained later when the Demoness was awake. For now though he made a list of questions that he wished to ask her.
